Final Blog Post

The end of the semester is here. This class gave me a memorable experience that no other courses could provide, and I will miss this class deeply.

This class is memorable for many reasons, and I am sure that everyone who took this class throughout this semester knows why. We learned a lot about our creativity, mind, and skill terms on the internet, especially me. I got a lot of information from this class, such as using software/platforms like WordPress, Giphy, and Ds106. These sites, especially DS106, helped me unlock my creativity because there were a lot of ideas provided to me, so it allowed me to mix and match my assignments.

From the start of the class, we explored what we could do and what we needed to improve on through the internet. Answering questions like if memes are art, I never thought about that until the professor gave us that assignment which is one of my favorites. Other assignments that I enjoyed doing would be assignment#5, assignment#11, and assignment#9. I also enjoy doing the rest of the assignments, but not as much as I mentioned. I can say that I improved a lot throughout the semester.

I started by putting no hyperlinks/detailed information and short responses to having a lot of detailed information (knowing how to hyperlink and use memes/gifs to give blog posts an expressive mood so classmates can see how I feel about certain things). After a long time of thinking, I decided not to continue my website after the semester ended because I feel like I am still new even though I learned a lot about website building. I know I can keep going to improve my website, but I don’t think I am ready to go down that path yet since it takes a lot of planning and ideas to make it work. I learned a lot, and I want to use the knowledge I got from this class to improve myself regarding internet design and media. Once I feel ready to continue the website.

Thank You, Professor, and All of my classmates, for giving me a mindset of design and being able to learn a lot of things not just about the internet but about life in general, sharing your guy’s opinions and describing how you got past that challenge gave me the motivation also to keep learning/Pushing. It was cool seeing yall in person every once a month, and the whole Panoramic View lesson was also quite fun. Thanks for Everything.

Final blog post

My favorite assignment

For this project, we were expected to write on what makes us happy on the internet. I talked about how youtube lessons helped me with my natural 4c hair. This is the post where I discussed how tough it has been for me to keep my natural 4c hair. Finally, I demonstrate my new hairdo.

Assignment 2

This assignments is about making my first GIF & GIF Post Narratives.  I learned to use GIF using Giph.com . I use gifs in my post to show off the skills . Check it out my first gif post.

“We had our first class using Zoom. The professor gave an introduction to CT101. I had the opportunity to meet each and every one of my classmates. I think it was fun and chill. To be honest, I’m also excited for this class since it will motivate me to learn sign languages. “

Assignment 3

I remember creating my first meme post and here I just wanted to share my first meme I ever created which was about CT 101

Assignment  4

Digital Storytelling Project Flexibility  is to pick a assignment that you like on the website. The assignment that I  picked was to Design a poster for an upcoming event, it could be a concert, a car show, really anything I want, the event can even be made up . THIS ASSIGNMENT WAS SELECTED BECAUSE I ENJOY BEING CREATIVE WHEN MAKING POSTERS.

Assignment 5

This post was about learning about how creativity and  immediacy. I wrote that ” In my opinion, creativity comes first, followed by intuition, and last, immediacy. Creativity, as the name implies, is the act of creating or inventing something that did not exist previously. It’s an excellent technique to prepare for intuition since it sets the environment for the flexibility of creative thought to arise. Creativity is a personal process that cannot be forced; it is, by definition, spontaneous. It’s immediate, as is all intuition, and there’s no conscious understanding of how the mind came up with the idea. A good creative balances strategy and intuition, trusting their instincts just as much as their skill.”

Assignment 6

This is the semester recap and bascaily summarized my experiences so far in class ct101. Ways I have improves and things I need to work on.

Assignment 7

This post I talk about finding the perfect domain name and  I ended up picking Cookwitheliz.org. The process was not easy but the zoom video definitely made it easier.

The Internet infrastructure relies heavily on domain names. They give any web server on the Internet a human-readable address.   A public IP address, either an IPv4 or IPv6 address, may be used to contact any Internet-connected machine.

Computers can readily handle such addresses, but humans have a difficult time determining who runs the server or what services the website provides. IP addresses are difficult to recall and are subject to change.  We employ human-readable addresses known as domain names to overcome all of these issues.  I’ve had a few domain name suggestions.

Cookwitheliz.org

yorubafoodnow.com

Toluokijfoodi.com

 Entertainnow.org

Assignment 8

This is my process of reclaiming hosting and downloading word press so I can start the process of my website. This process was not hard but I had to be very careful and make sure their was no mistake but I was able to get it done and download word press.

I then authenticate my account by entering the required information and using the offered promo code.I finished the order and checked my email for my account details and an email verification. I download WordPress. Please visit my website, cookwitheliz.com, even though I have not yet added anything to it. It is quite great to have my own website.

Assignment 9

This is the process of me beginning to choose a templet for my website and searching for the appropriate video that will teach me how to make my website appear the way I want it to. Thanks to the professor zoom video and the YouTube video below, I was able to discover a fantastic TEMPLET for my website and design.

I wanted to expand my understanding of WordPress and learn more about how to create a beautiful website that will entice visitors to want to remain on it, so I went to YouTube and found this video that piqued my interest.

I began personalizing my website by first modifying the theme. I make the decision to download Astra. Astra is a stunning WordPress theme that is fast, highly adaptable, and appropriate for a blog, personal portfolio, company website, and WooCommerce marketplace. It is really light.

I choose to download a beginning template that will provide me with website template possibilities that I may customize for my own website. This is referred to as a beginning template.  With the Starter Templates plugin, you can create professional-looking, pixel-perfect websites in minutes. This plugin offers me access to 280+ pre-made whole website templates and individual pages for Elementor, Beaver Builder, and the Block Editor, which are my favorite page builders. I was able to choose a free template to assist my website get started with this plugin.

Assignment 10

Also check out my first blogI wanted to discuss nutrition in my first blog on my website, and how vital it is for people to take the required steps to care for their bodies. Food is vital because it provides energy for activity, development, and all bodily processes such as breathing, digesting food, and staying warm; as well as materials for body growth and repair, and for keeping the immune system healthy.

Assignment 11

Honestly this was probably not my best work because I think I did it wrong. But we suppose to take a panoramic images and turn it into story but I decided to talk about a story that already existed and take some panoramic picture at the World Trade Center.

Assignment 12

I decided to share my website with everyone on this post

I wanted to discuss nutrition in my first blog on my website, and how vital it is for people to take the required steps to care for their bodies. How many points have I earned so far and what grade do I think I deserve? What did you enjoy about our class and how you will apply your new skills into the world?

In this class, I should be able to get 95 In this class, I evaluate my performance through self-reflection, looking at how my work develops week by week with the many post. Every week, I made a new post that helps me learn and progress. Every week, I learned something new and incorporate it into my post. I’m an introvert so I have  learned to be more comfortable with expressing myself. In the last several weeks, I’ve learnt a lot about gifs and memes. In the beginning i didn’t know hyperlink which can i do very easily. I’ve learned about a number of websites that can help me design or produce anything in the future. Imgur and Giphy are excellent venues for experimenting with and creating GIFS.  I also learn how to build my own website through Wordpress and how to find a great domain and host. Make a Meme — use some of the Internet’s most well-known templates to create a meme. Project prompts are organized by media kinds in the DS106 Assignment Repository.

A quick tour of my website

You may read about my recent blog by following the links on the home page. When you click on About, you’ll learn more about me, and next to it, you’ll discover Contacts, which will tell you how and when you may reach me.

Will you maintain and keep up your new website? If so, how? If not, Why not?

Yes I will still continue to maintain my website and share them with my family so they can read and share them with their friends that want to learn how to cook or just curious about Nigerian food.

Today is the last post and the final. This past few months I have learned a lot and I have grown a lot too. To getting out of my comfort zone, being more open and sharing more than I’m always willing to share with other. But it has been a incredible journey. From creating my first ct101 memes to learning how to use hyperlink, finding my domain name, finding a hosting and downloading wordpress, lastly building my own website. It has been bitter sweet.

Assignment #11 Panoramic Storytelling & Multiplicity

Panoramas and the behind stories…!!

Panoramic photography is a technique of photography to capture images with horizontally elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. I was introduced to Panoramic photography back in 2018, however, the first time I used it was during the 2020 covid lockdown. I actually didn’t get a chance to go outside to take photos for this assignment, however. I already have a bunch of panoramic images which I took from my previous outings.

Well, my experience with Panoramic photography is quite similar to this Meme. I actually have a picture of myself like the first image where one of my eyes is close and the other one is open.  Have a look.

This was the very first time when my best friend and I were trying Panos and it was taken on the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk. After a couple of funny attempts, we got this one which kinda looks better, however, the railing still looked bent. Here is the final outcome.

The next one is the funniest photo of my cousin, her facial expression was hilarious. Unfortunately, I had to hide her face otherwise she would kill me for uploading this on a public platform. I had another picture of her where one of her hands was missing.

The next 2 pictures I took back in 2020 on a very gloomy day.  I was chilling with friends in Downtown, Brooklyn, and wanted to take a picture with a full view of the stunning Manhattan bridge. I really love the way this picture turned out.

It was so foggy outside that the top part of the NYC skyscrapers wasn’t even visible. In this picture, I tried to combine Downtown NYC, the island, and The Statue of Liberty in one frame.

This was one of the most beautiful sunsets I enjoyed. I wish I could go and relived those peaceful moments again.

Last but not the least, this is one of my favorite pictures of The Grand Canyon trip from last year. It was very crowded over there, still, somehow I managed to take this beautiful shot of the Eagle Point of The Grand Canyon West.

In case, anybody wants to learn how to click panoramic shots, you guys can check out this YouTube Tutorial. This guy shared some amazing tips and tricks for taking beautiful Panoramic images.

Final Blog Post

Greetings classmates

Being a journalism major I heard around the hallways that CT was a fun class to take and I have to say that I was not disappointed. I just wish that the class was in person and I was in a better state of mind. This semester has been the most mentally challenging one and I thank God that I am the type of person who doesn’t like to quit.

Throughout the semester I learned to communicate through technology and I know that seems redundant being that the class is literally communications technology but I just feel that it is deeper than that. Art is an expressive tool and being that digital art is a thing, it is another way to express emotions or ideas and thus, telling a story or creating conversation.

When I open up a laptop or use a desktop I did the basic copy and paste shortcut and type my papers.. now I have the acquired skills to print and screenshot from the keyboard. I also learned to insert/create hyperlinks on an image or text. I can make my own GIFs, memes, create a website, create stickers, distort an image using the panoramic feature on a camera, create an image with different edits of our choice, blend images together to create one and use different effects on an image to create a new image.

Aside from the technical stuff, I learned to work with my group mates to create a fun image, I learned to blog properly, I learned to interact with my peers through a web platform and I learned to apply what I learned in class to a real life situation or assignment.

This class was more than just learning what was being told to us, I really think that Professor Seslow has been one of the most patient and understanding Professors that I’ve encountered, which I am very grateful for.  The class and the recordings of the class was both informative and helpful, I am one of the students who played catch up throughout the semester and it has been to my benefit to follow all of his steps like a recipe.

As of right now, I am struggling getting my website to be up and running. I’m not sure why I’m struggling so much because when I first created the domain, it said I was clear to jumpstart the website but a lot of complications came through (just my luck) and I think this will effect my grade. I felt like I was holding a high B in the class but this website and the assignments following it, will probably bring my grade down to a C or a high D and I just hope that I don’t fail. I came to every in person class that was scheduled and I participate for the most part, did the rest of the blog assignments and commented on my peers posts. I haven’t been completely absent from the class so I think I hold a fair standing. However, if my grade is being impacted negatively I will do whatever extra work I have to do to get me in the passing bracket of this class.

I really enjoyed the variety of assignments we had throughout the semester, it really brought out the creative side of my brain out and it allowed me to explore the different ways to complete each assignment. I can definitely apply the knowledge I gained in the course into the world because I’m in the process of building a platform for my grooming business, I can expand my content and create different things to draw an audience. I don’t know specifically what things I’d be using- I just know that I’ll be using it because it is part of technology and I’d be a unique blogger because I will have unique content.

Ideally, once I get the website up and running I will like to keep and maintain it. I will become a veterinarian one day and I will travel the world to help animals of all shapes and sizes, the website will allow me to broadcast my journey and allow my followers to either donate or participate on my journey. The world is my oyster.

CT 101 – Final blog post

As we get closer to the semester’s ending, CT101 has offered me an excellent learning opportunity. I got to learn many things during this semester and CT101 was the best class in this semester for me. I thought I was going to get into producing a lot of gifs and using them to describe topics in my posts when I started CT101, and it definitely seemed like that throughout the semester. Since the beginning of the semester, I’ve been using GIPHY a lot and have discovered some very cool memes that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. CT101 was one of my favorite classes at York College throughout my undergraduate years. I enjoyed learning and developing new design and blogging abilities. I think I’ve figured out the best way to write these blog postings. These postings contain memes, photos, videos, and hyperlinks. Learning it, understanding it, and being familiar with it have made it really simple.

Beginning of the semester when professor told us to make a meme, that moment it make clear to me that this class going to be a lot of fun and a lot of creative things to learn. I liked writing weekly blog articles about myself and my classmates in this class. Week 3, and week 4, Week 5, week 9 were my favorite blog articles. These were my favorites since I felt like they were the most innovative, and I was quite pleased with the outcome.

All of the assignments we’ve completed so far have helped me learn something new on the internet and look at other postings that have taught me something new. I can’t believe it’s been four months already. It seems like it was only a week ago I was worried about how to make a meme  CT101.

Here are all my completed assignments:

Assignment # 1

This task was all about finding things on the internet that made you happy.

Assignment # 2
Making our first GIFs & GIF narratives .

Assignment # 3

We analyzed if memes could be called art. Which they are, in my opinion.

Assignment # 4                                                                                                                       We picked two posts that we found interesting and used the DS106 Repository to create our own version of those posts and in this post, I made a meme on our professor.

Assignment # 5

Exploring creativity.

Assignment #6

Mid-Semester Reflection was when we looked back at what we have done so far and wrote about how we are feeling so far and the grades we can expect going forward.

Assignment # 7

The process of selecting a domain and the various options available to us was a lot of fun. I was also having difficulty selecting what I should put in the domain’s content.

Assignment #8

The domain was set up and ready to use right away.

Assignment # 9

Did not have too much at the start but customizing the website as we went on felt really good. Customizing the website can be a little tough at times though.

Assignment #:  10                                                                                                             Setting up and messing around with my Domain and learning some WordPress.

Assignment # 11

Looking at other classmate’s work was a good way to round off each assignment.

Assignment # 12:
we add the website’s URL and progress, let’s jump in! WordPress tutorials on adding Social Media content into our blog posts, pages, and sidebar widgets.

For my website, I decided to post my all photography and some short stories. My home page begins with an introduction to who I am.

On my Blog page I post one of my short stories. The name of this story is “Old age HOme”. It’s a story about two grandchild and their grandparents.

My contact page provides links to my social media accounts, such as Instagram and Twitter, as well as my email address and the hours that work best for me.

This class has been fantastic, and I will miss it greatly.

Thank you for everything Professor, I enjoyed being in your class.
Thank you so much all of my classmates and hopefully see you on campus someday.

Assignment #8 Registering domain name

Domain Name Yayyy

I research ahead of time to see if my domain name is available by using GoDaddy

After realizing no one has the name I jump on the Reclaim Hosting where I started signing up on sign-up portal, which was a simple and fast process with the help of Professor Seslow tutorial. This website is very informative, and I took time out to read what the ID protect was all about. After complete everything I land on this page below

I did one important set up making sure I check my email and verified my account before moving on to anything else. This page shows no payment are due and y0u can continue setting up the account by clicking the “cPanel” and viewing each content as I go along until I am at the step to install word press. I made the necessary adjustments by having the same username and password like the reclaim hosting.

This part was super fun!

I definitely did every step that Professor Seslow did, from switching to twenty twenty version, customizing theme with: CT101 test site 2022 to adding a picture and changing my home page from static to latest post. I all the necessary changes that I was interested in.

I love this picture

My experience doing this process was great, everything was simple and have the fastest access to anything you want to go on. I wasn’t expecting word press to install that fast, but it did which was fabulous. I hope to design my website and continue exploring. Thank you once again Professor Seslow for the tutorials.

Assignment # 11

Panorama mode combines photos to make a panoramic photo, allowing us to capture more of the environment. It was difficult for me to set up the photograph while also moving around to alter each new frame. I tried to take pictures outside, however, I couldn’t get the picture.

I think in New York City it really hard to take pictures without interruption.

Then, I tried to take pictures at home. My friend helps me to take the picture.

Here is the picture the professor took in your classroom hallway.

Assignment #8 – Domain and Registration

Domain and Registration

Deciding on a Domain Name/Signing Up

It was a bit challenging to decide on what to name my website but ultimately I settled on the first choice on my list, programmersblock.com. I really do like the idea of a sort of social hub for aspiring new programmers so the name felt pretty fitting overall. The process of signing up was pretty easy and very straightforward. This is especially the case when my domain name was cleared for eligibility on the first try. Now, comes the challenging portion of this assignment; actually formatting my website. I have an idea of how I want the end result to look, the only issue is really figuring out how to go about doing so. The upside of wordpress is that they offer a bunch of editing tools to your disposal but what comes with that is the learning curve of how to use said tools. It’s gonna take some tinkering but I’ll definitely figure it out. I mean, I kind of have to quickly now that the end of the semester is catching up.

OH AND BEFORE I FORGET…

I did remember to take my step by step screenshots to show how my sign-up process went. However..

I took these screenshots on my desktop monitor which seems to have a resolution that is incompatible with the cuny commons. Whenever I try to upload them I just keep receiving an error in which I normally don’t receive whenever I take screenshots on my laptop. You can find the oddest of errors when it comes to tech.

CT101 Final Blog Post

The end of the semester is here. It’s crazy to think about it but we’ve all come a long way from the beginning of the semester. CT101 has been a great learning experience for me.

I enjoyed learning and developing new skills of design and blogging. I seem to have learned how to make these blog posts the most. Embedding memes, images, videos and hyperlinks into these posts. Learning it, grasping it, and becoming comfortable to where it’s super easy now. I’ve also discovered multiple sources for inspiration in design and creativity, such as Giphy, Pixabay, Photopea, etc.

Not only did I learn to use these platforms, but also create one of my own. Making a website was one of the more challenging projects for me, creatively. More so than other assignments, it gave me a lot of creative freedom to do something that’s completely up to me, with no specific guidelines. This was something I was not used to, but learned to do throughout the course of the semester. Starting off by making my blog posts definitely helped with this.

I enjoyed that this class challenged me in a way I haven’t faced before. Moving forward, my creativity is something that I’ll continue to develop and allow myself to be in all aspects of life. I’ll definitely carry it with me for a long time.

My website is something that I’d like to hold on to as well, as it’s a space that allows me to be myself and share whatever I please. I hope to maintain it a place where my creativity flows, regardless of whether it’s seen as unprofessional or not “business-y.” I want it to be a platform where I can be myself completely.

Looking back at my assignment posts, it’s clear how much I’ve developed my own blogging style. Assignment 1 and 2 were really where I was starting to get comfortable using it and embedding things into my posts. Assignment 3 was where we were able to create our own memes, so I learned how to do that using Make a Meme. Assignment 4 taught me how to make my own gif on Giphy. My post provided a step-by-step on how I did that.

Assignment 5 was one of the most intimidating. It gave us a lot of creative space to make whatever we wanted. Because it was such a big page and had so many different tools, it seemed like there was a lot to explore. But it also starts off as a blank canvas and you don’t exactly know where to start. Nonetheless, it was fun to create. Assignment 6 was the mid-semester assessment post, in which I reflected similarly on previous posts and evaluated my position in the class.

Assignment 7 was where we began discussing our websites and sparking ideas for domains. Assignments that followed, 8,9,10, all included the actual design process of our websites and were some of the more difficult ones for me. Trying to figure out how to design my website and doing research on hacks or tips for how to create it. And lastly, assignment 12, we got to explore our classmates’ websites, gave our critiques, gained inspiration, and evaluated each other.

Overall, this class was a great experience and I hope to carry out everything I learned in the future. If I were to grade myself in the class, I’d give myself either a B- or B. I think there were things I could’ve done better. More participation, more creative blog posts, etc. I am, however, still proud of the work I’ve done.

Final Website Tour and Description:

Paola’s Blog

My home page is an introduction to me and a sneak peek at what to expect. I added in some personal details, along with a photo of myself.

My blog page premieres my first blog post on my site. I thought I’d give readers a bit more detail on my plans for the site; what I’ll talk about or share and the sort of content they can look out for in the future. A deeper explanation.

My contact page includes my socials: Instagram and Twitter, as well as my email and what hours fit best for my schedule.

It’s been a frustration trying to figure out how to make my website more attention-grabbing and fun. But, I will say it was fun trying something I’ve never done before and I hope to continue building it moving forward.

Thanks class.

Assingment-09 Customizing My WordPress Website

Building My Dream Website

In this assignment, I am going to share my experience of getting everything set up with my new websites! Last week I got a new domain name, a web hosting account, and a website framework ready to be built and customized.

When I was trying to log in back to my website, unfortunately, the email address I provided had an error, therefore, I was unable to verify my account, and my domain name got suspended!! Then I have to contact Reclaim Hosting to update my email which took almost 3 days.

First, I went through some themes to see what I would like; I clicked the appearance tab to see the options. I chose the Astra theme and began customizing my website by altering the theme initially. I used Elementor which is a plugin that helps to create beautiful pages using a visual editor. I find this YouTube tutorial really helpful and followed the instruction to customize my website.

This is my website’s homepage and it turned out exactly how I wanted. You guys can click here or click on the image to visit my website. I already mentioned in my last blog post that my website is based on travel and tourism. Therefore, instead of creating a personal website, I wanted to make it more like a business website. However, I have no intention of using it professionally at this moment.

There is a total of 5 pages on my website. After finishing the homepage, I set up the other pages as well.

After setting up all the pages, I created a few blog posts as well. I would like to welcome you all to visit my website and read the blog posts. I am planning to post more frequently in the future.

Assignment #5

#Positive Quotes

First of all, I loveeeee quotes. Quotes are very meaningful to me; it brings forth upliftment and positivity into my life. There is a lot of days where I am down, and I just find a quote to cheer myself up especially with school workload. What inspire me to talk about quotes in this assignment, I am disappointed on how my semester is going but what keep me motivated is always remembering ” The race is not for the swift but who can endure to the end”, and I have come a far way to give up now. I hope one day to start writing my own quotes and uplift others around me.

GIPHY has helped me a lot with quotes to go on my mmm. page.

I enjoy working with the mmm.page .

It gives a very relaxing way of coming up with ideas, very flexible and easy to operate. This website reminds me of when I use to collage photo on “photo grid”, cool website. I am happy to get an opportunity to use this website and share quotes that are meaningful to my life. The next time I use this website I should be able to publish my own quotes. I admire the fact that everything is easy access which is very motivational.

Assignment #7 – Domains, Domains Everywhere!

Potential Domain Names

    1.  programmersblock.com
    2. imposternomore.com
    3. compiletime.com
    4. imposterssyntax.com
    5. imposterflow.com

Why These Domain Names

One of the most difficult challenges many aspiring programmers face today is being haunted by the feeling of imposter syndrome. This inhibits many aspiring programmers from applying and obtaining careers within this field of work and ultimately leads to many giving up on learning how to code altogether. I too myself feel this from time to time when it comes to working on my assignments. As I read through documentation I feel that little inkling of ” you can’t do this”, “you don’t really know Java”, “you have a hard time with C++”, etc. However, once I start I’m always able to figure things out therefore invalidating those doubtful thoughts. The website I have in mind is a sort of community based confidence boosting platform where aspiring programmers can post their code and have more experienced programmers (whether in the field or well versed in the respective programming languages) either give friendly pointers or reinforce that what they have created is well made.

Assignment #6 – Mid-Semester Re-Cap Time!

So far CT 101 has definitely been the most fun I’ve ever had taking a college course. I would say a big contribution to this has been due to the subject matter of the class as well as having a cool professor at the head of it. It has definitely made this stress-inducing semester feel a bit easier to handle.  With that being said, it also makes me feel incredibly guilty. I definitely have neglected this course more so than my other courses this semester. Between work and school it definitely hasn’t been the easiest but that doesn’t mean I can’t get the work done. I just have to re-evaluate my time management and better layout the work ahead of me. Overall, I was able to get done the first 5 assignments:

Assignment #1

Assignment #2

Assignment #3

Assignment #4

Assignment #5

Now if this re-cap assignment was completed at the time it was assigned then I’d say I would be doing pretty okay in the class, probably looking at a B average. Realistically now however, I’m most likely looking at a D grade average. If I can get all my assignments in by the final class of the semester along with all of my comments, then I’ll feel as if I am in a much better position.  Regardless, I feel as if I’ve already learned a lot even with the amount of work I’ve done. Learning how to utilize all of the tools on the CUNY commons, working with giphy as well as mmm.page, has opened up a broader spectrum of what’s possible at such an easy level. For example, one of the coolest things I’ve learned this semester is how easy it is to make my own giphs. I absolutely love using gifs/memes to emphasize my text messages and now that I know how to make my own I’ll be unstoppable ! These are definitely skills I’ll utilize even once this course comes to its conclusion. Now, it’s time for me to get back to work!

Assignment #5 – Digital Art & Creative Immediacy

Creativity is the ability to alter traditional rules, ideas, patterns, relationships, or any of the sort, and create new meaningful ideas, forms, methods etc. Can also be defined as originality, progressiveness, and imagination. You can find creativity in a lot of aspects in our lives such as (but certainly not limited to) music, art, memes, GIFs, etc.

Immediacy is a quality or feeling of being directly involved with something.  It takes place within the moment and is therefore important and requires attention immediately. An example of this is if you’re at a live performance for your favorite performer. There is an immediacy to watching live that you cannot get from just a recording alone.

Intuition is the ability to know something based on feelings rather than having all the facts. Everyone has experienced this one way or another throughout their lifetime. Many times this can be referred to as a “gut feeling”. Say you’re home and you have this strong feeling that a specific individual is gonna stop by and visit. This is one of the many examples of intuition.

Recently, I’ve been watching the entirety of the Star Wars films with my significant other. So I figured for my mmm.page I was going to make it star wars themed. At first I was a bit clumsy with all of the tools provided to me but after playing around with dragging and dropping images and pasting stickers I was able to figure it out. I have to say it was pretty cool to see all of it come together. This website is definitely an amazing tool to utilize whenever you feel as if you need a creative outlet.
