Final Blog Post Of CT101

We reached that time of the semester where all our classes are coming to a wrap (Nowadays months just seem like there speedrunning). Finals and of course final assignments like this one and then we finally have the short break we wanted. Atleast attempt to enjoy the time you have to rest 🙂

What I enjoyed in the class

I honestly have had a really fun time expressing myself in a form of post while getting to mess around with so many images and GiFs, I even used to hate using zoom but the zoom meeting links were so useful then a random video on youtube. I mean who wouldn’t enjoy a class where you literally have a choice to stock up on memes. Even able to repeat the process with decent memory the more post created………unlike the lessons in my other classes :C

Now with these skills you can express yourself to the world with a post or website creating if you want to get an important message out to other or share some passions that others may share an interest too. Its pretty much how most fandom. communities start to begin with.

Website Creation

I haven’t fully decided but I would like to maintain my website creation from time to time when I have no major distractions in the way. Most likely post about comics and superheroes, since it is one of my favorite things. Can’t forget the part that it seems very appealing for me to own my own domain name(Still shocked that ComicVerseUnleashed.com was actually not a taken domain name already).

These are some screenshots of my website, notice I did try added a color background but apparently with this theme you only see the color background on the far right when you zoom out.

With this class you also learn alot of websites you can mess around for fun or even use it for creative purpose, like…….

Photopea, Tenor(where I find all these GIFs to begin with), meme generator(If anyone wants to create their own), and with many other useful tools for us to use.

CT101 Reflection

The grade I believe I have earned is a A, and the reason behind that are I try to make it clear that I take the time with all my assignments without seeming like i’m doing the bare minimum. Even able to complete all my assignments even though my first completed assignment was the 4th Post (Honestly one of my favorites). I also try to not miss so many classes and comment on others post as often as I can.

Assignment #10

Customizing our websites

It’s about that time again for everyone to get creative and really express their image. Updating the front image of our websites, a name that either relates to our site or just our own personal title of choice. It’s all based on what you yourself think is best.

Sadly the themes that may shine out of the rest in your option is stuck behind a paywall unless it’s one of the themes with a number.

You may make a category that could make a selection of what the viewers may want to see a bit easier to navigate. Decorate the home page to give it some of your passion and sends a message on what this site would even display.

Overall this doesn’t have to be time consuming, if you want to make minor or big changes go ahead. Just enjoy messing around and exploring on your own creation

Assignment #1

Something that made me internet happy this week

It was news of another season of a show that came out last year that I really enjoyed watching through. Honestly with all my classes and my personal life, I forgot about this show until I saw a post on it.

Most people that know me, would for sure know how much of a fan I am to superhero content. The show My Adventures with Superman is getting a new season this year and ITS THIS MONTH!!! Starting off with a hour season premiere, I’m so excited.

Of course it comes out around the end of the month, and sadly near the time of finals and I am really impatient when it comes to waiting for content, while of course making sure I’m passing my classes…….. Im sure I’ll manage though 😀

Assignment #9

First we went on the website reclaim hosting to be able to test if our domain names were even available to begin with.

I ended up making my domain name ComicVerseUnleashed.com, finding it best suited out of the 10 I came up with in the last assignment.

I chose this as my domain name since I would have the website being about a variety of comics, pratically a place to see a multiverse of comic book runs or discuss which you would consider or suggest to others.

The experience making these were interesting as this is the first time I ever taken part in something like domain name creation with website building. The plus side as well……………….ITS FREE 😀

Domain names are names that you have ownership to that is suppose to represent yourself online.

Considering me personally, I’m not that great at thinking of multiple names that could be used. So with the help of Chatgpt to provide 10 examples of domain names I would consider.

Now that the names are out of the way. The idea I have behind this website are based on my enjoyment of comic books. So really sharing off comics that would be a good read and reviews all the ones I haven’t had a start on yet.

I was already very passionate about superhero films, which of course are mostly based on or referenced to comic that came prior. Doesn’t stop at hero comics though as many popular shows and movies have tons of comicbooks behind it.

One comicBook I finished recently was Daredevil: Yellow, it’s very entertaining and not as long of a run as many others.

Assignment #3

Honestly, I wouldn’t believe it if someone told me their assignment was just making memes.

To begin with the question “Are Memes Art?”, I would consider them art since it’s a way for someone to express their thoughts and passions. Memes can be either targeted between one person or an entire group overall suppose to be enjoyable.

Assignment #2

What did you think on the first day of the CT101?

Well this very late from the first day of CT101, but I would say this seems like a very calming and interesting class with a professor who shows how passionate they are on the topic.

How does CT101 compare to some of your other classes so far?

Compared to my other classes CT101 is by far way less stressful to manage, nothing that would have us as students spending late nights trying to even complete one assignment.

How do you feel about learning new skills that use Internet tools?

I find this great because honestly I’m mostly pretty terrible when it comes to computer stuff, but now I know how to hyperlink and how to make a creative and decent blog post.

Assignment #6

Wow it’s already been 7.5 weeks of this class. This whole semester seems to be moving at such a fast pace. Doesn’t even feel like it’s been 25 days of March so far.

How I’m doing in CT101?

I’m doing fairly decent in the class, as I always try to maintain my attendance in the class and actively listen to the structure or examples of the planned assignment with mostly clear understanding.

What have I learned and retained the most?

Tell you what I learned that zoom class recordings are alot more helpful then i thought………….

In all seriousness though, I learned how to make gifs and memes, while using this class site to actually express my thoughts in a creative way. For example in our assignment prior to this, I had some time to mess around with photopea again after a long time.

What grade do I believe I am maintaining and why do I deserve that grade? 

At the moment I believe I would have a B in this class because I haven’t done all of the assignments as I’m still trying to catch up, but I do maintain a decent attendence. Of course going for an A when I actually work my way into finishing up my assignments.

Do I see my weekly blogging work expanding creatively? 

I find my blogging expanding as I’m getting a better hold of these skills, and honestly I thought this class post would be more of a chore, no offense of course, but I found myself enjoying looking through others work and creating my own. Especially when the post is something that is more interesting then usual to express my view more.

Are you commenting regularly on your classmates posts? 

I comment on a classmate’s post once in awhile, but should be commenting more on these awesome posts. I do manage to respond to the comments I receive on my post within the same day they were sent.

Are there any assignments that you are missing?

I’m missing the first 2 assignments, Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 because my York email was failing me earlier into the semester.

How will you make needed improvements?

First step would be in completing the remaining missing assignments which I’m trying to do within the week. After would be trying to improve on my time management for assignments going forward.

Assignment #5 DS106

I scanned through the DS106 Assignment Repository, a place filled with project prompts that is organized by several different forms of media.

For my first project I decided upon the one called “Populate the landscape” 

Passions are whatever brings you joy, sparks interest within you, something you can spend countless amount of time on and without a doubt you wouldn’t be bored. My passion is superhero movies and shows.

Superhero content has been a favorite of mines since I was a child. It’s like the only form of movies and shows. I could never get tired of seeing them and occasionally rewatch most of them. Even some of the most hated superhero movies I honestly really enjoy and still standby them of being decent watches, for example one of my favorite movies is Daredevil(2003). Well more specifically the director’s cut of the film.

Another while being a long watch I still found interesting was one of the hated hero movies that still gets talked about in the fanbase, Batman vs Superman: Ultimate editon. These films are considered terrible to most hero fans, but honestly I can still watch them and feel entertained.

Next I was always such a big fan of the action present in these shows and movies. With the countless powers at their disposal or skilled fighers. They can take any creative step they can with the fight scenes.

These are some of the best hand to hand combat scenes in a few hero shows and movies for me personally.

An interesting fact about this fight scene is that it’s a one take, well all the hallway fights are in the Daredevil show. Meaning there was no cuts between the part it was completed at once. The only cut was when he’s holding the kid after the fight.

Throughout the years we have had alot of live action batmans, but many would still agree that this is one of the best fights crafted for Batman.

Then the fight scenes that are more on the power aspect.

This fight was a creative choice, considering with all the abilites this hero is capable of, it was a creative choice to make it like a music battle, against his own counterpart as well.

One of the best parts about superhero media is how it can be a mix of carefree experiences while can also show the darkside of things. They aren’t afraid to express dark themes and can be very impactful. There are even moements that gets me hype or just leave you shocked on how well they look and the choice of soundtracks or the visuals itself.

The shows already are one of the best parts of being a hero fan, there’s always the fan favorites 90s era of animated shows like Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man animated series. Which mostly started many kids viewpoints of these heroes. Even have the joy of having crossovers with other characters within their universe.

My personal favorites would be Spectacular Spider-Man, The Boys(do be advised lots of mature warnings) and with one of the best hero teams like the Justice League. Even if these aren’t your style there are still tons of shows to choose from with more in the making. I can’t wait for DareDevil Born Again to come out, It looks promising.

Overall all these always have a space in my mind as it’s filled with such interesting characters with a wide variety, some of them may even be more  relatable to you then you think. They can set examples and even give people something to strive towards an ideal, well you know besides all the powers unless metahumans are hiding among us after all.

Honestly I would recommend for others to attempt to give some of them a watch, doesn’t matter if it ends up not being your style. They can be enjoyed by any age groups and you can actually see some actors at their best performances and some high tier cinematography or even laugh at some of the questionable cgi.
