Looking back on this course, I am happy that I tried to submit my assignments though I often wondered if I did the right thing not being familiar with posting, blogging and creating content, fulfilling each requirement of a particular assignment. But I guess that is why you encouraged us to comment on each other and interact not being afraid to give each other advice.

Grade myself?

Professor honestly I don’t know what grade I earned, I was there often and I feel sometimes mentally I was not, and sometimes physically I was not present, cause I missed a few classes. All I know is that I have been a honest content writer when expressing myself in my work assignments, So I just want a honest grade. And That is what I am going to give myself a grade “H” of honesty. cause I know if had the right time and focus I will excel greatly so I will leave that LETTER signature up to you and embrace it wholeheartedly with honesty.

Okay fine since it mandatory, A passing grade please :'( maybe you can bend the lines of my H grade on the top inwards to make an A or add one bow on the top and bottom to make it sort of look a B? Be creative professor I know you can!

What did you enjoy about our class and how will you apply your new skills into the world?

What I enjoyed about your class, is your positive approach of encouraging us as students to challenge our creativity, despite that you yourself had challenges with having full house of students each week. Time have changed and we students facing a lot of challenges, we no longer a just students we are fulltime workers, full time caregivers/takers, fulltime spouses, or just full time dealing with this world where so many distractions are surrounding us challenging our attention span and happiness. And I think you should commended for it. thank you for your patience and understanding to this new age. This is what encourage me to still make effort to complete my assignments considering the need to drop.

You learned how to build a website, will you maintain and keep up your new website? If so, how? If not, Why not?

yes I learned to set it up, and do some basis things, I am a pro at it? – no, an good amateur? – not even close, but I know if I focused I will even do wonders as an amateur. I will definitely keep it up not so sure if I would change the content on my website and make another website to use my library funding center with another domain name. But I will surely develop a website to perfect my content idea.

I had some challenges with my website, content I thought was saved but eventually not and log in issues. So I need more time for it to get it together. Still in progress.

I will work on how I want my web domain to appear on my website. Good thing I did not have spam, but I received like a million failed inlog attempts in my personal email. So called someone try to get into my page, so I guess the spam went to my personal email. I did change my password eventually.

Will you remove default content from your theme? Will you create a series of new pages?

I customized the homepage very basic I am still thinking about what color to give the letters, but I want my page to be very easy on the eyes so I will definitely remove some default content.  This is because I want my message to be as clear as possible. so I will definitely create more pages but not as much to maintain clarity.

Publish a blog post?Customize the home page? I am kinda working offline so I am not sure if I will blog a post, but eventually I will before the end of the class. But I am more focused on the set up of the homepage at the moment.

Will you create a category or two? Changes colors?I have created 4 categories, and changed the background color and adjusted my the domain name through the title.

Add plug-ins?I will definitely do some plug-ins somewhere down the line because the purpose of my website to become a funding page.

ASSIGNMENT #9 BLOG/POST ABOUT SET UP WEB-HOST & WORDPRESS APPLICATION.

To avoid any issues with the code I decided to set up the webhosting account  & installing of WordPress in person with the professor. We all did it together in class for who ever was there. Unfortunately because I was following the steps carefully I had made no screenshots.

The set up of the account was self-explanatory, we just had to entry our information carefully:

• Personal info.
• Address.
• Phone.
• My Domain name: www.samisikaba.com
• Payment with coupon code.

Once we set up our account, we downloaded the WordPress application. We were guided to our website and the professor showed us how to use basic tools on the website to navigate and edit our pages. Perhaps the moment most of us been waiting for as “The assignment”?

I choose the 2016 Theme, because it was recommended by the professor not only because of that for some themes you have to pay but also for simplicity. And to me having a simplified organize theme was also in my opinion easier on the eyes. And I also think it leaves more space for creativity and how you want to design your page.

last but not least I am grateful we had the opportunity in this class to set up our own website at least having our domain name set for a year for free and ability to continue it. I really think this WordPress application through our class is a pretty good deal in comparing to other sites. Thank you!

**Assignment #7  PICK A DOMAIN NAME.

I picked out my domain name “SAMISIKABA”.

Other potential names, purpose funding, funding for community centers, children of purpose funding, eventually I will cooperate all these into my domain names/website. 

What does it means?

• It is the name of my Grandmother and it means “That what I have seen before” in my language.

Why did I choose this name?

•  I want to keep her memory, She was known for being part and a pro advocate of organizing community assembly and activities, to keep everyone in her village involved.  the same spirit to be continued throughout generations to come because I myself carry this same spirited inspiration.

So where would my website be about?

I would like to create a Fundraising website for support of building library funding and community center projects in needed communities globally cause I believe that a bridge between school and home is necessary and will make a difference in a child’s life especially those who struggle at school or at home. 

What are my own experiences growing up among library community centers in the west? And Privileges that I gained that shaped my character?

• Confidence – I was to balance my introverted shy character as a child by  being exposed to social oriented activities of the library and community center.

•  Focused and better reader.

• Sense of purpose feeling self-sufficient and independency.
• Bonding with my parents, feeling like I have a purpose as child within my family  by teaching them computer skills.

How am I doing in CT101?

I think I am doing pretty okay in CT101, only thing is that I am 2  assignments behind including this assignment due to setback in my workschedule, but i am attending my in person classes which keeps me motivated and curious. What have I learned and retained the most?

So far, I have learned though it is pretty easy to get around the internet when it comes to blogging and posting that it comes with some principles. Examples the importance of how to create hyperlinks, and why it is important. posting and blogging is not just writing about something but also to give reference.

What new skills have I developed , cultivated and displayed regularly in my weekly posts?

Yes i get more exited, each post. Sometimes I go with a mindset let me knock this out in a quickly but when i get to it, I find myself enjoying wanting to take time for it.

Impact of Scar character on a child watching this movie, emotionally attached Simba’s character. 

Storytelling is my true passion. Growing up in the 90s, I witnessed the peak of digital storytelling. This era set the standard for presenting stories using colors, lighting, music, and captivating emotions, especially for children. Disney, with its innovative approach to storytelling, influenced me greatly. The release of “The Lion King” in 1994 left a lasting impact on me. The emotional depth of the story, particularly the burden placed on Simba’s young shoulders, was profound. looking back, It made me realize the power of storytelling to children and that certain scenes might been too emotional for them, where I feel that children might can develop certain habits and oppress truth because of blackmailed guilt from an adult. 

My passion for storytelling was nurtured by my immigrant parents from South America who worked in the digital manufacturing industry in Europe. My mother brought home videotapes of the latest movies every Friday that could not be sold because of minor errors, while my father, employed by Fujifilm, captured our family’s moments on camera. They instilled in me a love for stories, whether through films or books. My father encouraged me to read and write, often gifting me books on my birthdays. I spent hours in the library, immersing myself in stories.

These early experiences with storytelling fueled my creativity. Even in kindergarten, I would craft stories during creative sessions, illustrating them for the teacher or my mother to transcribe.

As soon as I could write, I filled every available paper with my thoughts, sometimes to the dismay of my parents when important documents were unintentionally used. At the age of 8, my mother gifted me an official creative book that I cherished until my teenage years, when it was discarded due to manipulative religious disapproval of my writing and drawings.

Despite this setback, storytelling remained a constant in my life. I delved into writing lyrical music and poems during my adolescent years, eventually returning to storytelling with fervor. My mom fondly recalls a story I concocted in kindergarten about our house being fire that was so convincing, the teacher believed it to be real sincerely approaching my mom about it. This memory, along with my mom’s preservation of my creative book from kindergarten, serves as a reminder of my storytelling roots.

Today, I continue to weave tales and create stories, writing a book, realizing that storytelling is not just a hobby but a true passion that has shaped my life. The power of storytelling, with its ability to evoke emotions and transport audiences to different worlds, remains my driving force.

Hi my name is Molivia Koning,

I love story writing been doing it for years but have never published anything. Looking forward to get guidance through this class and utilize myself with learning tools to break out of my shell. I hope this class will give me confidence to publish my work.

What made me happy this week, was that one of my inspiring artist Bob Marley movie came out called “ONE LOVE” on February 14th. 2023. Unfortunately I was not able to see the movie because of my busy work schedule but I was still excited that this movie came out, it was long overdue but I guess right timing surpasses personal desires in rare cases and I am looking forward to see the movie soon!
