**Assignment #4 – Blogging about Your Passions!**

Storytelling protection of Children.

Impact of Scar character on a child watching this movie, emotionally attached Simba’s character.

Storytelling is my true passion. Growing up in the 90s, I witnessed the peak of digital storytelling. This era set the standard for presenting stories using colors, lighting, music, and captivating emotions, especially for children. Disney, with its innovative approach to storytelling, influenced me greatly. The release of “The Lion King” in 1994 left a lasting impact on me. The emotional depth of the story, particularly the burden placed on Simba’s young shoulders, was profound. looking back, It made me realize the power of storytelling to children and that certain scenes might been too emotional for them, where I feel that children might can develop certain habits and oppress truth because of blackmailed guilt from an adult.

My passion for storytelling was nurtured by my immigrant parents from South America who worked in the digital manufacturing industry in Europe. My mother brought home videotapes of the latest movies every Friday that could not be sold because of minor errors, while my father, employed by Fujifilm, captured our family’s moments on camera. They instilled in me a love for stories, whether through films or books. My father encouraged me to read and write, often gifting me books on my birthdays. I spent hours in the library, immersing myself in stories.

These early experiences with storytelling fueled my creativity. Even in kindergarten, I would craft stories during creative sessions, illustrating them for the teacher or my mother to transcribe.

One of my many storytelling drawing as child.

As soon as I could write, I filled every available paper with my thoughts, sometimes to the dismay of my parents when important documents were unintentionally used. At the age of 8, my mother gifted me an official creative book that I cherished until my teenage years, when it was discarded due to manipulative religious disapproval of my writing and drawings.

Despite this setback, storytelling remained a constant in my life. I delved into writing lyrical music and poems during my adolescent years, eventually returning to storytelling with fervor. My mom fondly recalls a story I concocted in kindergarten about our house being fire that was so convincing, the teacher believed it to be real sincerely approaching my mom about it. This memory, along with my mom’s preservation of my creative book from kindergarten, serves as a reminder of my storytelling roots.

Today, I continue to weave tales and create stories, writing a book, realizing that storytelling is not just a hobby but a true passion that has shaped my life. The power of storytelling, with its ability to evoke emotions and transport audiences to different worlds, remains my driving force.

ARE MEMES ART? ASSIGNMENT #3.

MY CREATED MEMES:
1. I am always exited for things that stimulates my creative mind!
2. Sorry but not sorry!
3. Sorry professor, I do take this class serious. I just have a busy work schedule, but I am on it!!!
ARE MEMES ART?
I found the following 3 links that are discussing if art are memes followed by my own opinion If I consider memes to be art and discussing different aspect of it why or why not.
1.
According to Opinion on the News Record platform Memes trigger different emotions in people from laughter to sadness and seriousness. These triggers within us allow us to criticize  if we feel connected to these memes or not ,and therefore conclude for that fact we already treat them like art. It was stated as the following: “We remember the good as we would a piece of classical art, and criticize the bad as we would less-than-stellar art. We already treat them like art, so we may as well embrace the fact that they are.”.
2.
According to The PBS Channel they discussed the idea whether memes should be considered as art. The host MIke Rugnetta stated the following agreeing that it is a form of art by saying the following :“People are creating images and sharing them with strangers to communicate their personal experiences? That, my friends, is art.”

3.
This Youtube video is telling us the History of how memes were defined by Richard Dawkins. That is an expression of cultural heritage and human behavior. Though the narrator of this video states that ” Now, cultural ideas that are spread through memes”. explaining memes have now more evolved as inside jokes expressed in digital form over the internet. I don’t agree with the narrator because I think he contradicts himself by stating that this is the way our culture of today now expresses itself, which is a form of a current cultural heritage and how we as humans behave. Nothing has changed, only the platform that is accessible in a much easier way and broader audience due to technology.

MY OPINION ON WHETHER MEMES ARE GOOD OR BAD ART.
with an extra meme for you!
Defining Memes to be good or bad still depends on each individual. It carries to me the same concept as “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”. You either get what is expressed in the message to your likeness or don’t like it what is been said or expressed. Therefore, a good or bad judgment about it does not define it to be art but recognizing the expression in the form of imagery that is presented to us as an audience. Whether we agree with that opinion or how it makes one feel.
For example, graffiti or murals on walls can often come with words too and are not necessarily liked but accepted as a form of art in our current society. Memes in my opinion can perhaps be considered being nothing in difference to that but just being expressed in a movable image or seen as a mural on our “digital walls.” This also tells us that it can be used as storytelling because memes are often a response about a subject or event that is going on in our society. Therefore, memes can be considered to be part of an overall story that’s been told in our culture and are continuing a discussing or conversation expressed using digital form.
Considering Memes to be bad or good communication is just like watching a different kind of news outlet to me from a personal individual. The host of a regular news outlet is either giving us good news or bad news today likewise the host of an Meme creator but the only different in this case at least through memes we can have a more transparent idea of how the multiple different people think in our society about a certain topic using a imagery and words that are personal to them. Memes therefor can limit the fact having a news outlet giving us biased opinion what the majority feels or communicates. Memes therefor in my opinion have a more current update of what the mental state truly is in our society considering discussing or responding on different topics.

Assignment #2 GIF’s

What did you think on the first day of the CT101?
It happened to me but with CT 205 in the same room.

Tried all the stairs and escalators steps to find M403, me finally getting there, me finding the door closed, me wiping the sweat of my face, me seeing the door closed thanking God I am the first one and am not late, me waiting, me doubting If I am at the right classroom, me refuse to type all this log in detail of blackboard into my phone to see if anything changed, me stubbornly waiting an extra 10 min, aahhh me losing patience and therefor forcing myself to navigate myself unto the annoying blackboard platform, me finding out class got canceled. you-must-be-kidding-me!!!

Did you like hearing about the course and its creative content? How did it make you feel?

What did I got myself into :I

Getting our first assignment, I felt overwhelmed by seeing all the information how to set up my account and having a first assignment without an in-person session. So I had to take a step back, take a deep breath and read things thoroughly in order to apply and survive my first blog post ever!

How does CT101 compare to some of your other classes so far?

I like that I get the space in this class, to kind of figure things out in my own space and time. This class allows me to put my own ideas and creative input into given assignments unless like other classes where there is only one correct input, or answers already predetermined by a book.

What are the creative potentials of this class?

I got this! I will be mastering skills of applying digital art into my storytelling concepts. And finally fulfilling my inspiration of becoming a real blogger and content creator.

How do you feel about learning new skills that use Internet tools?

I am feeling like getting in formation, as I magically hear Beyonce song “formation” on the background manifesting to myself “I just might be a black Bill Gates in the making”.

Assignment #1 Internet Happy.

Hi my name is Molivia Koning,

I love story writing been doing it for years but have never published anything. Looking forward to get guidance through this class and utilize myself with learning tools to break out of my shell. I hope this class will give me confidence to publish my work.

What made me happy this week, was that one of my inspiring artist Bob Marley movie came out called “ONE LOVE” on February 14th. 2023. Unfortunately I was not able to see the movie because of my busy work schedule but I was still excited that this movie came out, it was long overdue but I guess right timing surpasses personal desires in rare cases and I am looking forward to see the movie soon!

Thank you!
