What are your passions?
It’s a question that tends to come up in interviews, small talk with people you just met, or heck even in-depth conversations that involve liquid/smokey courage.
I mean, if I think about someone’s passion, I think of going to the gym, having a sport or hobby, or feeling strongly for a movement of any kind.
It took a lot longer than I intended to, to discover what my passions are. There are things in life I am passionate about, but I don’t consider them my passions. I would consider photography a passion of mine. Bob Belcher loves his turkeys, I love my cameras.
I’ve been taking photos since I was 13, whether they were that good at that age, will never be told. I’m not sure why I enjoy photography so much; but I have always been noted for being very observant on random or little things. To be able to capture the hint of emotion, or the small bits of nature that most people don’t look for is quite exciting.
The camera I use, and have been using for a few years now, is a Nikon D3200 digital camera. The platforms I use to edit the photos -which I rarely do- have been Photoshop and Photoshop Express, both are Adobe applications!
In 2020, when sh*t hit the fan, and everyone had to hunker down for about a year and a half; I started birding. I grew up in Connecticut in the middle of nowhere. So having to hibernate in a small town with no main roads, there are not a lot of things to do other than appreciate the nature surrounding you.
Plus it was an excuse to procrastinate on online classes! Now, I still enjoy taking photos of birds and animals, but I also enjoy cityscapes, taking photos of friends for memory keepsakes.
Again, I am not sure what started this passion. I am also not sure how I have loved something for a decade now. One day though, I hope to turn it into something with more of a purpose.
Great work on this!
The images work!
🙂
WOahh do you like bobs burgers or just the gifs??
Birding you say 👀 I haven’t met a fellow bird watcher in a long while. Do you share your photos of birds or is it just a personal hobby?
