Dear classmates
I just published a new blog post here on my website: http://kikisnaturalhairjourney.com/uncategorized/chapter-1-deciding-to-go-natural/ please come and check it out and feel free to engage in some fun dialog.
Growing up my mother always relaxed my hair so it can be more manageable, so I didn’t know how my natural hair texture would look. Although my hair was chemically altered it was still long and thick, but it had the potential to be healthier. Natural hair is so hard to manage, especially when it’s thick, long, and curly.
At the age of 12, my hair was no longer long and thick, it started to get short and thin due to overprocessing my hair and not properly taking care of my hair. I would constantly flat iron and relax my hair resulting in damaged unhealthy hair strands. I realized that my hair wasn’t growing, so I stopped overprocessing my hair. I started to wear braids and protective styles. My hair still didn’t grow as much because of the years of damage.
Great work here on this post!
This is a great example of building engagement here on ct101 to bring our readers over to your personal website where the content has been originally published.
I do believe there is more customizing to be done on our personal websites. Clarity of content for visitors to the website is crucial, we will be talking about visual accessibility more in our class. Remember, we are not only designing the website for our own personal interests, but for the potential thousands of other people who may come and visit the site. Our goal is to make our content easy to see, read and navigate – and also keep them engaged – Ill be sharing more examples and techniques in the next few weeks.
Thank you for the hard work! 🙂
In the future, I’ll be doing more customizing. Thanks for your feedback.
Excellent! Thank you! Great work!
Hey Kiara, I love the visualization of your website! And I can totally relate to your tension about hair care. I love long hair. Last year on July I cut my long hair really short up to my shoulder. I was having hair fall, mostly because I used a totally wrong shampoo. Have you ever used any vegan shampoos? Not recommended. 🙁 Anyway, then I regretted it right away. I can sense from your writing that you had to be so patient with your hair. Me too! I never really took care of my hair before cutting it short last year. After that I became desperate to get my long hair back. I started doing research and bought several different hair oils. I have always had natural hair (never processed my hair except coloring). I used those oils along with some other home remedies. I had to be so patient but I was restless at the same time! Anyway, now after more than a year has passed, I have got the length back thankfully. I still take care of my hair though, in fact love taking care of it. Thank you for your post and great work on the site!!!
Great response! Thank you for your frequent participation!
