First off shout out to Professor Seslow!!! I couldn’t have done this without his zoom tutorial so thank you a million times! I was at first scared to do this because I was overthinking the process but with the help of the zoom recording I was able to walk through the process with ease and gathering my evidence was easier than I had anticipated. It was a good post, love it.

What did you enjoy about our class and how will you apply your new skills into the world?

I really enjoyed the fun learning and how it catered to this generation and technology and social media. I will be applying these skills to my social media posting and my website blogging.

I will be maintaining and keeping the website by posting blogs ever so often, maybe my adventures this summer.

How am I doing in CT101?

I am doing great in CT101 in my opinion. I fairly enjoy the class and because of it I try my best in the class. 

What have I learned and retained the most?

I have learned how to use my skills to be a more creative storyteller.

What new skills have I developed , cultivated and displayed regularly in my weekly posts?

I have developed the skills of making gifs, using photo collages and making memes. I have been displaying these skills on a weekly basis.

What do I know now that I did not know before taking this class?

I did not know that making these things would be so easily accessible. To be fair, even though everything is internet accessible these days, sometimes it requires you to pay.

What grade do I believe I am maintaining and why do I deserve that grade?

I believe that I am maintaining a calm B+ in the class. I think I deserve that grade because even though my work may be kind of good, my attendance isn’t the best.

Do I see my weekly blogging work expanding creatively? If so, please explain why –  or am I stuck in a loop where my posts seem to look the same most of the time, how will I change that? 

I do feel as though my weekly posts have been getting better as time progresses. I have been coming up with many different creative ways to broadcast a story to keep the readers entertained.

To be very honest I have not been commenting or responding to any comments but I will try my best from now on.

I have not been participating in class as much but I will try to be more participating.

I need to make improvements by coming to class more and participating, replying to and commenting on others’ posts. I will try my best to make it to class and interact and ask questions when I don’t understand and I will show more gratitude by responding to others’ comments and also commenting on others’ posts.

Assignment #5- DS106 Adventure

I chose this assignment because it was the easiest at testing the water at what I can do.

After saving the image to my Photos I click on the editing Botton and began choosing colors and writing the name of the seasons on each picture.

Everyone has their passion in life, whether it is from cooking, to gaming, to even bird watching. In my life I came to love skating. 

The skateboard was invented in the late 1940’s and later on became very popular.

These days people skateboard everywhere, to work, school and just to get from point A to point B. 

I first became interested in skateboarding when I saw my friend skateboarding in Prospect park and I asked him to teach me and when I got a hang of it, I went straight to the store and I bought my own skateboard

The feeling of going speed and the wind hitting you in your face when skating is so refreshing and freeing. It gives me a sense of calmness and peace that I’ve never felt before. When skating I’m not thinking of anything, I just have a free open mind.

Moreover Artspers blog delves into the integration of memes in the realm of art signaling an acknowledgment of memes as an expressive medium within the art community according to Artsper. Additionally an article featured on Art Zealous explores how memes have ascended as an art form highlighting their transformation, from internet humor to an valued artistic platform as mentioned in Art Zealous. In essence these sources collectively support the notion that memes are recognized as a form of art showcasing their impact and creative dimensions.

What did you think on the first day of the CT101? The first day of class I was excited at the creative freedom and the breakdown of the things we would be doing in class. I became super excited to see how everything would be put together and look.

Did you like hearing about the course and its creative content? How did it make you feel? I had absolutely no idea what this class was about, honestly I wasn’t going to take it but the other class was full by the time I started registering for classes. I felt like I had no choice but to go through with it as it seemed like the alternative, to me.

How does CT101 compare to some of your other classes so far? It is by far my less stressful and fun class. I like the creativity and the use of the internet and really the happiness to willingly complete an assignment.

What are the creative potentials of this class? The creative potential of this class really is endless. We are using the one thing that makes the world happen right now (the internet) so we can aim high.

Willy Wonka looks like me when I’m thinking about all that can happen in this class.

How do you feel about learning new skills that use Internet tools? Learning new skills to use on the internet definitely makes me feel cooler. Being able to show my friends things that they did not know gives off a sense of awesome.

Rihanna is the perfect reaction to how I feel learning new things.

This week the super bowl made me supper excited and happy. I was so happy to see Usher’s performance and the excitement to see the 49ers and Chiefs go head to head was so thrilling.

Realistically I was just watching for Usher, eager to see which other celebs he would bring out to preform along side him. When I was much younger I had the biggest crush on Usher, I think I knew almost all his songs. Indeed I was way young to be listening to some of them but the innocent mind of a child goes a long way.

The Super Bowl half time performance single handedly made younger me so happy.
