It allows me to share my life with others, connect with viewers who may resonate with my content, and create a digital archive of memories to look back on in the future.

How am I doing in CT101?

I think I am doing pretty okay in CT101, only thing is that I am 2  assignments behind including this assignment due to setback in my workschedule, but i am attending my in person classes which keeps me motivated and curious. So far, I have learned though it is pretty easy to get around the internet when it comes to blogging and posting that it comes with some principles. Examples the importance of how to create hyperlinks, and why it is important. posting and blogging is not just writing about something but also to give reference.

I am doing great in CT 101. I have learned to create things I engaged in before knowing how to create them. Examples are meme-making, gif-making, and using other platforms to create that will be useful in the future.

I never questioned how people made memes because I was not interested in making my own. You do not have to have connections to know special programs, now that I know there are free websites open for anyone to use.

I am maintaining an A+. I deserve this grade because other than attending class in person every time, I hand in quality work. Also, I take into account what the prof. says such as suggestions to improve my posts and I implement the advice to my posts. I always comment on my peers’ posts with engaging commentary or questions and I do not have missing assignments.

I see my blogging expanding when it comes to creativity because I use better gifs geared toward what I say. I am not sure how I would improve since there is always room for improvement, so I am open to suggestions.

I regularly comment on my classmates’ posts and I have responded to my prof.’s comments on my posts. However, I have not responded to my classmates after they responded to my post. However, I will go back and implement these comments so this is something I can improve on. I do not participate during class time as much, but I do here and there. I do not participate regularly because I put my attention to completing blog posts. However, I engage more during lab time since I stay for the duration of class time to continue working.

Honestly, I wouldn’t believe it if someone told me their assignment was just making memes.

To begin with the question “Are Memes Art?”, I would consider them art since it’s a way for someone to express their thoughts and passions. Memes can be either targeted between one person or an entire group overall suppose to be enjoyable.

Assignment #2

What did you think on the first day of the CT101?

Well this very late from the first day of CT101, but I would say this seems like a very calming and interesting class with a professor who shows how passionate they are on the topic.

How does CT101 compare to some of your other classes so far?

Compared to my other classes CT101 is by far way less stressful to manage, nothing that would have us as students spending late nights trying to even complete one assignment.

How do you feel about learning new skills that use Internet tools?

I find this great because honestly I’m mostly pretty terrible when it comes to computer stuff, but now I know how to hyperlink and how to make a creative and decent blog post.

         

 

Depending on the type of projects I do, should determine how many projects I do this semester. I say this because some projects can be a mixture of the assignment bank, requiring more skills and time. Also, the tools I should be using can require complicated steps. However, if the assignments are not a mixture of skills, then I would say I should do a couple of projects in the semester.

These skills are important because I can create projects of my own. As a result, I can create content that will benefit me by having viewers engage with my content. I can gain followers, likes, and business proposals because of the skills implemented in my work.

I think my blogs are expanding creatively, two weeks ago I went an impassioned rant about how good Japanese tv shows for teens are.

You must be asking why Quby?? Well it’s simple I want to make a Quby website filled about Quby n Friends and how he was made and how he relates to every situation we are in as well as feeling in every moment, I can tell Quby forgives me from earlier and is very happy to be around ya’ll!

Is it personal or business domain website? It’s personal because there are other websites that has Quby for business but for my website I want Quby to be personal and make everyone that visits our website to be happy 😀 (Yes I said our website because Quby is always helping me out regardless). I researched an Quby website to see what I can find and man oh man I found the perfect websites:

I simply searched on google and typed in quby websites and these are the results I saw which made me smile :D. These websites are business websites since there are NFTs, tokens, and games, I like it because it’s a really cool design and they’re very colorful and cute to see Quby in games!

For me I don’t really know how im doing in  my ct101 class to be honest .I had some trouble making my blog and when I finally made it, it was hard for me to catch up ,the work isn’t hard ,I just don’t have any motivation to do my work to be honest , I still push myself cause I need my credits ,so to be honest im just trying to push threw this class and all my other classes.

what I learned and retained the most is I can express myself without really having to use my words and use images instead  , if I don’t feel like writing a whole paragraph on how I feel. I can just use a meme instead it’s like a piece of art that says my feelings for me .

Some new skills I have learned to do is copy and paste on my computer don’t laugh but I never learned how to copy and paste on my computer fr I never had to use my computer until I had this course that forced me to learn to add my gifs to my assignments , if I never had this course I would never know how to copy n paste .        

 What I know about this class that I didn’t know before is that I can have a class  that isn’t just about books and im being able to use outside sources from social media that are current and fun to me. I wouldn’t really say im missing any assignments right now I’m just trying to catch up on my assignments and make sure I don’t fall behind on them.                                                                                                       

To be honest I don’t really comment on my classmates blog post that much anymore it’s like exactly when I finish my work I just want to close my computer and go to sleep . But I’ll try my best to start commenting more frequently .      

Of course everyone wants to maintain an A plus but to be honest I think I maintain an c plus or an b to be honest I say this since my attendance is low but I still do my work even if I don’t go to class.

Participating during class time I would say I do 50/50 some days I do some days I don’t I guess its just how I feel depending on the day and how interested I am in the lesson .                                                                                               

How I would make my improvements would be commenting more on my class mates post, and make sure im consistent with going to class .

Storytelling is my true passion. Growing up in the 90s, I witnessed the peak of digital storytelling. This era set the standard for presenting stories using colors, lighting, music, and captivating emotions, especially for children. Disney, with its innovative approach to storytelling, influenced me greatly. The release of “The Lion King” in 1994 left a lasting impact on me. The emotional depth of the story, particularly the burden placed on Simba’s young shoulders, was profound. looking back, It made me realize the power of storytelling to children and that certain scenes might been too emotional for them, where I feel that children might can develop certain habits and oppress truth because of blackmailed guilt from an adult. 

My passion for storytelling was nurtured by my immigrant parents from South America who worked in the digital manufacturing industry in Europe. My mother brought home videotapes of the latest movies every Friday that could not be sold because of minor errors, while my father, employed by Fujifilm, captured our family’s moments on camera. They instilled in me a love for stories, whether through films or books. My father encouraged me to read and write, often gifting me books on my birthdays. I spent hours in the library, immersing myself in stories.

These early experiences with storytelling fueled my creativity. Even in kindergarten, I would craft stories during creative sessions, illustrating them for the teacher or my mother to transcribe.

As soon as I could write, I filled every available paper with my thoughts, sometimes to the dismay of my parents when important documents were unintentionally used. At the age of 8, my mother gifted me an official creative book that I cherished until my teenage years, when it was discarded due to manipulative religious disapproval of my writing and drawings.

Despite this setback, storytelling remained a constant in my life. I delved into writing lyrical music and poems during my adolescent years, eventually returning to storytelling with fervor. My mom fondly recalls a story I concocted in kindergarten about our house being fire that was so convincing, the teacher believed it to be real sincerely approaching my mom about it. This memory, along with my mom’s preservation of my creative book from kindergarten, serves as a reminder of my storytelling roots.

Today, I continue to weave tales and create stories, writing a book, realizing that storytelling is not just a hobby but a true passion that has shaped my life. The power of storytelling, with its ability to evoke emotions and transport audiences to different worlds, remains my driving force.

Picking A Domain Name!

It’s Time to Pick a Domain Name! Well, lets get thinking about it!

It’s time to begin thinking about choosing a domain name  that can represent your digital self! <– (we will watch this video in class together)

Its time to start planning the website building aspect of this course! YES, we will be designing a website, no doe is required, this will be a visual front-end design project, trust me, its FUN!

Exciting? It is indeed! But first, what is a domain?

You can’t (and shouldn’t) pick just anything..

This part is important!

It has to be unique! And it also has to be available!

It should be relevant – it could be based on your real name,

Or a nickname and or something meaningful to you!

You will need to search for its availability using a domain registrar and you can pick from a number of different ‘top level domains (TLD)’ – for example .com, .net, .us, and .org – then you can have an example like – “mypersonalsite.net”

As we go forward to select and register our domain names, you’re also going to need web hosting, which will allow you to put files up online and will be discoverable through your new domain name! We are going to use a form of ‘shared hosting’ where you get a portion of a server – think of it as having an apartment in a building..

With shared hosting you will be able to do a lot of things including installing your own instance of WordPress! (via WordPress.org and not wordpress.com – they are a lil’ different)  With WordPress installed you can then start building your website for your domain name. I will cover a series of demonstrations on how to do this and I will record all of the demonstrations and tutorials.

But, what exactly is Web Hosting?

We use a company called Reclaim Hosting, with which we have a contract with so you can enter a coupon code and start your account for free.

**The coupon code will be e-emailed to everyone via blackboard starting next week and the week after – so I will be reminding you to check your York college e-mail address to get the code.

This part is totally up to you! If you wish, you can use the website project itself for a specific niche project, for example, perhaps you want to share your passion for cooking and poetry. Which means you will be primarily writing blog posts about cooking and poetry while building the website simultaneously. This can also be applied to sports, or gaming, or politics or journalism, or simply put, website that fused together many interests as well as your ct101 assignments.

Assignment #6

Wow it’s already been 7.5 weeks of this class. This whole semester seems to be moving at such a fast pace. Doesn’t even feel like it’s been 25 days of March so far.

How I’m doing in CT101?

I’m doing fairly decent in the class, as I always try to maintain my attendance in the class and actively listen to the structure or examples of the planned assignment with mostly clear understanding.

What have I learned and retained the most?

Tell you what I learned that zoom class recordings are alot more helpful then i thought………….

In all seriousness though, I learned how to make gifs and memes, while using this class site to actually express my thoughts in a creative way. For example in our assignment prior to this, I had some time to mess around with photopea again after a long time.

At the moment I believe I would have a B in this class because I haven’t done all of the assignments as I’m still trying to catch up, but I do maintain a decent attendence. Of course going for an A when I actually work my way into finishing up my assignments.

Do I see my weekly blogging work expanding creatively? 

I find my blogging expanding as I’m getting a better hold of these skills, and honestly I thought this class post would be more of a chore, no offense of course, but I found myself enjoying looking through others work and creating my own. Especially when the post is something that is more interesting then usual to express my view more.

Are you commenting regularly on your classmates posts? 

I comment on a classmate’s post once in awhile, but should be commenting more on these awesome posts. I do manage to respond to the comments I receive on my post within the same day they were sent.

Are there any assignments that you are missing?

I’m missing the first 2 assignments, Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 because my York email was failing me earlier into the semester.

How will you make needed improvements?

First step would be in completing the remaining missing assignments which I’m trying to do within the week. After would be trying to improve on my time management for assignments going forward.

The new skills I have developed are how to make GIFs from YouTube videos and how to make MEMEs. I hyperlink all materials I reference in my weekly posts. I have learned the history of MEMEs and GIFs which I did not know before taking this class. ੈ✩‧₊˚

I am doing great in CT101 in my opinion. I fairly enjoy the class and because of it I try my best in the class.

I have learned how to use my skills to be a more creative storyteller.

I have developed the skills of making gifs, using photo collages and making memes. I have been displaying these skills on a weekly basis.

What do I know now that I did not know before taking this class?

I did not know that making these things would be so easily accessible. To be fair, even though everything is internet accessible these days, sometimes it requires you to pay.

What grade do I believe I am maintaining and why do I deserve that grade?

I believe that I am maintaining a calm B+ in the class. I think I deserve that grade because even though my work may be kind of good, my attendance isn’t the best.

I do feel as though my weekly posts have been getting better as time progresses. I have been coming up with many different creative ways to broadcast a story to keep the readers entertained.
