YAAYYyyy!!

The most hectic semester is finally coming to an end. I’m saying hectic because of the pandemic then this semester going completely online and on top, I am taking a biology class with three other major classes. As this is my senior so I had a lot to worry about, however, CT101 has been the easiest and interesting course, I wasn’t ready to take this course because I thought that taking CT101 online will be difficult. However, this was the most interesting and fun class I have taken as an elective.

I enjoyed every assignment, but my favorite was a GIF assignment because I feel this is one of the best ways of communication without saying too much or to express feelings. Especially, for the person like me who do not like to type a lot during a conversation with my friends, it was a great experience.

The assignment in which I struggle the most was creating  a website because this is the first time I even thinking about having a website. I always thought it was easy, but never knew it takes a lot time and creativity to design a website. My website is Killermonsta, it is not the best looking website but I tried my to make it look good by following instruction so it will look little presentable. I wanted to customize more, but I was busy focusing on my biology classes.

To be very honest, For CT101 I am expecting my grades in A’s because I had a lot to worry about in this semester. However, I still keep up with all my assignments and tried to do as best as I can. Overall, I have learned so much from this class, either it is making GIFS, learning about vaporwave, and memes. Everything I learned  in this class will definitely help me in future.

What is Copyright!!??

Copyright is a legal form of protection for an author’s work. It is a sort of intellectual property. In simple words, any type of content can be protected through copyright. It provides exclusive publication, distribution, and usage rights of the author. Copyright law helps talented authors, the exclusionary right to make and sell copies of their works, the right to spin off their works, and the right to spectacle their works to the public. The categories of work that can be protected by the copyright laws are books, songs, films, paintings, photographs, software, and poems.

VAPORWAVE!!!!

I saw this type of art before may be in games or on social media, but I did not know that it is called vaporwave.  I was amazed looking at the images. The bright colors (blue, pink, purple, orange) in the images are really catchy to the eyes. I search more about vaporwave, so I get to know that it is a “microgenre of visual art style, and electronic music that seeks to coney the joys of the internet generation” In visual arts include 3D rendered object, web design, glitch art, and anime.

For this assignment, we have to explore another classmate’s website and that is a great idea because it will give the reason to visit another website and appreciate their work. I visit Jasmin Payne’s website, her website is about the artwork. I saw some of her art, I must say she is very talented. The introduction to the website is pretty straightforward and the header image of the website is her own sketch which is very cool!

I am really excited to share that I added a social media page to my website killermonsta. I am very happy to see that the website is looking little presentable.

I connected my personal Instagram account at the moment, which will show you  only my images.

However, I want to make a new account and post random images related to my website. Please let me know, if I should keep it like this or add a new Instagram account?

 

Hello Everyone!

As I mentioned in part 1 of customizing my website, I was completely lost but after spending hours, now I feel my website looks pretty good. Click on the link to check out my website killermonsta.

I added a new page “Digital Art Gallery”

 

I added a contact form on my website so it will be easy for people to send a message.

 

 

Also, I used “Really Simple SSL” to secure my website.

My next step will be to add social media links to my website and I am very excited about it.

Oh my God! This semester is already coming to an end, CT 101 is the easiest class I am taking this semester. So far I’ve learned a lot from this course, every assignment teaches me new things. For me, the best part of the course is when we learned about GIFs and memes because it shows that we can communicate without saying too much.

The only thing that’s giving me a hard time is customizing WordPress.

I am currently working on my website by following steps from lecture recordings. This is how my website looks like at the moment click here. I must say the professor has been very helpful throughout the semester.

I would give myself an A in this class because I believe I did good in assignments and I made progress in each blog. So, I am really hoping to get a grade in As.

I was so excited to customize my site, but the moment I type on my website I was so lost because it shows me a random page, it took time for me to figure out the actual WordPress login page.

After I successfully login I followed the professor’s tutorial to customize my site. I used the Canva app to create a logo for the site. I did not finalize my logo yet, because I am still exploring the logo website. I am very excited to see how my website will look after I complete customizing everything the way I want it. Honestly, it was a little confusing at first, but then I watched the lecture’s recording and followed the steps as the professor was telling in the class. Finding my name gives me a hard time because the name I chose “Iqsa” was already taken, so I thought of some other names but none of them was working. I was just scrolling down on Instagram saw one makeup page name “killermonsta” so I tried and it worked. Otherwise the whole process was pretty simple and class recording really makes it easy.

 

I was so excited when I get to know that we are going to make our own website because one of my friends took this course last semester and she told me that in this class we have to create our website. Now when it is time, the name of my website would be IqSa, “Iq” are the first two letters of my name, and “Sa” is the first two letters of my last name. I’m not 100% sure what my website will be about, but I’m thinking to make it about makeup since I love talking about it.

 

 

Hello everyone,

For this assignment, I will attempt a “Visual Assignment” from the DS 106 website. For this project, I chose “Bucket List,” which is something similar to my last project.

I used PicMonkey to combine all the images and make a collage, but for some reason, I couldn’t save it. So I went back to the Spark. Adobe.

This collage contains 4 wishes from my bucket list. The first image shows travel I want to travel the world like most of us. However, I do have the top 5 places I want to visit which include Turkey, Greece, Dubai, Maldives, and  Kashmir. The second image describes that I want a kitten or cat but my mom is not ready yet to have a cat at home. The third image is pretty clear that I want a ride in a hot air balloon. The fourth image shows that I want to learn to drive and I am working on it.

For this assignment, I will attempt a “Visual Assignment” from the DS 106 website. The project I chose to do is called “Places of Peace.”

Places of Peace

I used Spark. Adobe to edit the images in a collage. This is how it looks…

This collage contains four aspects of my life that bring peace when I am stressed. The first thing I would like to do is to go out somewhere around nature (beach or parks) sit there and listen to music. Makeup is another therapy for me if I cannot go or want to go out. Even around midnight, when I can’t sleep or overthink stuff, I start doing makeup because it helps me to divert my mind. However, one of the easiest ways to be peaceful is having a cup of coffee while talking to my friends.

 

 

ARE MEMES ART? 

Of course, memes are an art. I’m saying this because art comes in many forms such as paintings, drawings, etc. The role that art plays is to convey one’s message and express it. Memes are a form of art because they express people’s emotions, and convey the message that it’s aiming for.

Although, some people might say the meme is not a form of art, however, I disagree. The reason being that just because you do not believe that it’s not appropriate and does not require the normal way of creating it ..it does not mean it’s not.

Nonetheless, It does require the same amount of effort and creativity to create something. It should be considered art formally because we live in a time where technology is everything and used.

 

 

This was my reaction when I read in the syllabus that we have to do 2-3 activities every week and almost decided to drop a class because this my senior year and I have a lot to do.

But when the professor explains the activities I was relaxed and now I am pretty excited to take this class.

 

For me, internet happiness is watching makeup videos because I love makeup since I was a kid. During the lockdown, I started creating makeup looks because I had enough time to spend on creating a look and practice new tricks.

When I can’t sleep either I watch makeup related videos on Instagram.

Also, in lockdown sometimes I even used to do makeup at midnight just because I used to be so bored.
