Assignment 4: Oh Passion, my passion, where have you gone?

I thought very long and hard about this prompt. I have a lot of half-finished drafts that focus on writing. I say things like “Oh writing is my greatest love”, and “Writing is the one thing I can’t live without” but that’s not quite true. Of course, I love writing. I can’t sleep most nights unless I put at least a few words on paper, but it’s not the act of writing that I love. It’s storytelling.

Hello Kitty Writing GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

The writing is just a medium for the soul-deep desire to spin a tale that will rivet and inspire. In the same way that I’m pulled to make art or speak, I’m drawn to create. It feels a little cliche to say in a storytelling class that my passion is storytelling, but I’m not here to be revolutionary. I’m here to be honest.

I have always loved stories. Reading, writing, watching. I’m in love with every part of our human desire to share all kinds of things with one another. Even just sharing our boring day-to-day thoughts is so exciting to me. I want to hear about your breakfast order, about how the cook at the Bodega lovingly fried the egg and toasted the bread for your baconeggandcheese. I want to hear about how nicely it was folded. How warm it was on the cold, cold new York City day (a commodity now) and how that warmth brought you to life. I’m obsessed with how you take your tea, no cream and two sugars. The smile you shared with the cashier as they wished you “a nice day mami”.

Happy Power GIF by Cartoon Hangover - Find & Share on GIPHY

Our lives are all made up of these tiny stories that don’t feel like stories. We all forget how precious the small things are because we don’t speak of them. We save the relaying of our tales for things that seem important. The scholarship we won or the date we went on. The job interview we aced or dinners with our zany families. Something that feels big and meaningful, when it’s all meaningful.

One of my favorite storytellers is Hayao Miyazaki. He’s most known for his animation, filmmaking, and being one of the founders of Studio Ghibli. Through writing, animation, and a hundred other shared artworks, he, along with his team, creates a story that’s not afraid to linger on the minutiae.

The delightful sweetness of a cup of warm milk and honey on a rainy day.

The heat of a fire in the hearth of a house full of your loved ones.

The solitude of the view from your work desk window as you toil away on some repetitive task.

All of those small things make up the full story. The fantastical elements and high stakes are not more valuable than the small everyday things in this life. Rather, the stakes are so high because you have to protect those things. The journey to slay the dragon has urgency because you want to take walks with your grandmother or enjoy your afternoon tea at your window. You want to have lunch on Wednesdays with your best friend. Don’t you?

And even if you do, in fact, crave adventure and passion, it is made up of all those small pieces. Every day isn’t a fight to the death. You won’t find yourself battling day in and day out for over fifty years. This is not how the battle is won. You must bathe and eat, and connect with your comrades.

You will light a fire at your camp, you will fish in the stream, and, perhaps most importantly, you will dream.

Miyazaki’s work perfectly captures these feelings. The small gives value to the large and vice versa.

His storytelling feels like looking into a mirror of my vision for my work. I love the big conflicts, to portray those titanic battles between good and evil, right and wrong. But it also makes me so happy to show the joy people feel in the in-between moments. Just being with each other. Darning your sock because it has a hole in it and you can’t defeat Thanos unless you patch it. Kissing your aunt on the cheek just because you love her and, well, isn’t that why you’re fighting? To protect the people you love?

I hope that I’ll be able to further share my passion for storytelling with the world one day.

Assignment #10

Anime Glasses | Know Your Meme

When building a WordPress website, I would start by installing WordPress and setting up the basic configuration. Then, I’d remove any default content provided by the theme to have a clean slate for customization. After that, I’d focus on customizing the homepage, selecting an appropriate layout, adding a custom header and logo to establish the site’s identity.

Next, I would create essential pages like ‘About Us’ and ‘Contact Us,’ ensuring they are in line with the site’s purpose. If the website includes a blog section, I’d start publishing blog posts to provide valuable content to visitors. Organizing these posts into categories would help improve navigation.

Lastly, I would customize the site’s appearance to match the brand and design preferences. This would involve changing colors, fonts, backgrounds, and other style elements to create a visually appealing and cohesive user experience.

CT101 Final Blog Post – Joshua Goodman

CT101 Final Blog Post

The time has come everyone… again.

That may sound familiar to those who read my Mid Semester Blog post, where I started with the same phrase. However, now we’re in the home stretch, and with the end of the semester comes the end of this wonderful class which I’ve grown to love.

My impression of this class still stands 100%, and if you need a refresher here’s what I said at the midpoint of the semester: “in CT 101 I’ve had a HORRIBLE TIME, the hours and workload violate my right to freedom as I’ve been imprisoned in the Multimedia room at night, not to mention Prof Ryan, he’s so chill it aggravates me. Despite all of these violently extreme lies that I just said, I’ve had a wonderful time in this class.”- Joshua

I’m just kidding…

or am I?

Whether I’m kidding or not, which I definitely am. I’ve learned a lot from this class and a lot about myself throughout the course of it as well. I’ve learned to let go of my “perfectionist” tendencies and just let things be if they don’t work out exactly how I want them to. I’m proud of myself for coming to terms with that fact especially when it came to something like designing my website, but I’ll discuss that a bit later.

I’ve developed so many new skills in this class, one of them being formatting a blog post. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, before this class I have never written a blog post. I didn’t even think people used blogs anymore, but due to the work we’ve done I now know how carefully curate a blog post with an appropriate amount of memes and gifs.
I’ve even learned how to create memes and gifs using websites like GIPHY and Meme Generator that take pre-existing media from online and I can then manipulate them to convey what I want.
We’ve even learned how to convey a story solely using memes which I’ve written about in this blog post where I talk about the versatility of memes and meme culture as well as why Memes ARE Art!
I’ve also learned how to use digital tools on websites like MMM and Figma that are bursting with endless creative capabilities. With Pixabay and Photopea also getting a shoutout. This class has taught me so much and the progress is evident as you compare my earlier blog posts to now.
If you asked the me from the beginning of the semester to write an effective blog post that encapsulates my experience on a website like MMM, I’d simply have a mental breakdown….
But ask me now and I got it 😎
Seeing as I’ve accumulated all of these skills it would be a shame not to utilize them, so I will use these skills to further my understanding and add to my repertoire as I progress in my major which happens to be Communications Tech.
I could even charge people a commission to build a website for them, I think Professor had mentioned a starting price of $1,500 for even the most basic website setup, and after I gain a little more experience in designing and figuring out the ins and outs of how to do it I could have a nice side hustle using Reclaim Hosting and WordPress.
This wouldn’t be a proper reflection if I didn’t talk about the things I wanted to work on since the beginning of the semester, one of those things being commenting. I found it hard at first to get into the commenting groove because I didn’t know what to say in response to other’s posts. However, after looking at Prof Ryan’s comments and how he comments I realized that I don’t have to reply with paragraphs or writing, just a few words of encouragement or connecting the content of the post to something in my own life. Due to that realization I’ve been on a commenting storm and I believe I’ve commented on at least one post from everyone in the class if I’m not mistaken.
It might not mean a lot to certain people but commenting on your post just gives you a sense of recognition. The feeling of…”oh I didn’t write this for nothing, someone actually read it 🙂 “
Even with this, I have been slacking in the participation department. Unlike others in the class who leave Prof Ryan hanging when he asks a question I’ll give him a thumbs up and nod if I agree with what he’s saying.
We don’t really engage in conversation until after class is unofficially finished. I’m not sure if the majority of the class can agree but the conversations with Prof Ryan after class about the future of the world, and other random things that come up are so fascinating to listen to and be a part of. If that counts as participation then I’ve definitely been participating.
Moving on to my website…which is a little out of sorts right now, but I did manage to make it look how I wanted on the front end…you can find it at
If it’s too much trouble to click on the link here’s a screenshot of the main page (I’m really proud of it).
As you can see I incorporated similar images that can be classified as Pixel Art which I’ve always admired the aesthetic of. I plan to have this website as a glimpse into my personality and life for those who would like to get to know me. I will be the only one posting and uploading posts, but this might change in the future as it grows and gets better.
Currently, I have a few pages that can be accessed by clicking on the navigation menu in the upper right hand corner or the images that have also been linked to each page.
Those pages are:
This page will showcase all of my digital art and the story I’ve been working on that supports the art.
This page will showcase pics of food that immediately make my mouth water. Potentially recipes as well.
This page will showcase pics and quotes that I find inspirational or things I think that make life worth living. (Mostly sunsets).
This page will showcase completely random posts and pictures of things that I find funny or evocative.
This page showcases a few sentences explaining the purpose of this website and why I made it, as well as my email address in case someone wants to reach out.
Before I forget, I’ve already written two blog posts on my website and they can be found in the Interests and Life Post Categories section of my main page.
After clicking on the “Life” icon you will see my first blog post in this section about my general onlook of Life and how I perceive hardships that are surely in the works.
After clicking on the “Interests” icon you will see my blog post about Anime and a little bit about why I enjoy it so much.
^^P.S. in this blog post on my website I embedded a Youtube video after enabling the Youtube Plug-in, which required a Youtube API Key…something I’ve never heard of or seen before, but because I added this function to my website I now know how to do it.
Happy Great Job GIF by FOMO Duck
Seeing as the main page of my website came out how I wanted it to (for the most part) I will definitely keep working on it and maintain it to the best of my ability. Not only because I want to, but because it’s cool. How many people do you know that can say they built their own website from scratch? It’s the ultimate form of creativity and expression. I will add pictures and make posts about things in my life that I care about without having to worry about my grades being affected.
Speaking of grades…I can confidently say that I deserve an A in this class. I say this because from the beginning of the semester till now I have diligently completed all of the required posts and work asked of us. There have been 2 optional blog posts which I did not participate in which would have confidently put me into the A+ range, however, I did all that was asked/required. All of my previous blog posts have an appropriate amount of text, gifs/memes, and hyperlinks which are all necessary to main write an effective blog post.
Although, I have one absence I emailed Prof beforehand to let him know and I watched the recording of the class so I could catch up. Thus, with everything I’ve accomplished during this semester, I know I deserve an A in this class.
As proof here are all of my previous blog posts in order:
  1.  Assignment 1
  2.  Assignment 2
  3. Assignment 3
  4. Assignment 4
  5. Assignment 5
  6. Assignment 6
  7. Assignment 7
  8. Assignment 9
  9. Assignment 10
  10. Final Blog Post (this post)
I’d like to finish this post off by saying how much I’ve appreciated the hard work and thought Prof Ryan has put into this class. If you’re reading this (which I know you are :)) I hope you know that I’ve had a wonderful semester because of you and this class, thank you so much and I hope to see you again.

CT101 Reflection: A Trip Through the Development of Technology and Media

 Link to my website

Overview

Upon reflection of my experience with CT101, I am astounded by the abundance of abilities and information I have acquired in the field of media and technology. This last blog entry functions as a narrative summary of my experiences in the course, a self-evaluation of the grade I think I deserve, and an explanation of how I intend to use my newly acquired abilities in the real world.

 Acquiring Knowledge and Development

I knew a little bit about coding before I started CT101, but this course really elevated my understanding. I experimented with a variety of artistic mediums and software, with making GIFs being a particular highlight. Making GIFs might not be your thing as a career.

My life is chaos and sometimes thats what I  want my work to show. Giphy created by me

Building and Using Websites

Learning how to create a website was one of CT101’s main highlights. I’ve been able to establish a space for my online presence thanks to the methods and resources made available by websites like Academic Commons and WordPress. Having a personal website is essential for hosting and exhibiting my work as a journalism student.

Reference to Previous Blog Post: My Journey in Website Creation

I’ve utilized skills like hyperlinking and media input extensively, which not only enhanced my assignments but will also be invaluable in maintaining and updating my personal website. While I had prior knowledge of HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript, WordPress has streamlined the process, making it more efficient and automated.

Grade and Attendance

Self-Evaluation: B-

I believe I deserve a B- for several reasons. Despite facing challenges attending in person, the availability of Zoom recordings proved instrumental in keeping me on track. I acknowledge a certain level of improvement and growth throughout the semester. Deducting 10 marks for attendance, I feel a B- reflects my overall performance.

Applying Skills to the World

Immediate Application

The skills acquired in CT101 are not confined to the classroom. I plan to immediately apply my newfound knowledge to enhance my personal website, creating an engaging space to showcase my journalistic work.

Reference to Previous Blog Post: Transforming My Website with CT101 Skills

Long-Term Application

I aim to use these talents in my future profession as the media and technology world continues to change. In the fast-paced world of media, having the capacity to produce engaging and aesthetically pleasing material is highly valued.

Finalization of the Work

In order to give you a thorough rundown of my voyage, I’ve put together a collection of supplementary photos, GIFs, videos, and links to all of my previously published blog pieces. Together, these pieces demonstrate the wide variety of abilities and experiences that were acquired throughout the course of the semester.

Conclusion

To sum up, CT101 has been a great ride and a class that has given me abilities that I can use outside of the classroom. I bring a toolkit full of technical and creative skills with me as I start the next chapter of my academic and professional career, prepared to make an impact in the rapidly changing media and technology landscape.

Assignment #10 – The WordPress Customizing Series, Pt. 1

Assignment #10 – The WordPress Customizing Series, Pt. 1

begin fox tv GIF by Paradise Hotel

Where do I begin? How do I even start to express the magnitude of frustration I felt while designing my website?

Let’s just start with how I ended up choosing a theme that’s not Twenty-Twenty One which made it a little harder to follow the recording of class, but I still managed to get it done with a fair amount of struggle…

I ended up using the Blockbstarter theme and even though it is less beginner friendly I unwillingly welcomed the challenge because I liked it so much. This theme has a lot of pictures embedded onto the main page which meant I’d have to go image hunting to find something I liked.

I soon realized that I was drawn to the aesthetic of Pixel art gifs/media, like this one which I found with a simple Google search of Pixel Art Gifs:

I love the perspective of this image as it looks into the sun, as it makes me think of a new possibilities and journey ahead.
Rainbow Road GIF
As I started playing around with the settings and typography of my website I decided that I would keep the background a nice off-white color to match the bright expansive scope of possibilities.
I added 5 new pages and 3 categories so far (keeping in mind that I’ve already worked on it a lot longer than I would have at the point of which this blog post was supposed to be posted). The pages and categories have the same names which can be a little confusing, however, the pages will house static images and text that I add on to periodically, whereas the categories will house all of the blog posts categorized appropriately.
However, figuring out how to do all of that is a lot harder when you have no idea what you’re doing which is my what happened to me. At first I had no idea how to create a page or add the pages to the navigation menu, but thanks to the Zoom recording I figured it out, and also added the Classic Editor plug-in. THEN I ran into the problem of all my pages being drafts and I had no idea how to publish them and why they remained drafts…until I returned to my Dashboard and saw the option for Pages where I then formatted and published all of my pages.
Happy Stephen Colbert GIF
Most of the pages only have a featured picture at the top and a small amount of text…but at least it’s there!
Look at it!
I’m also proud of my website’s home page and how simple yet aesthetic it looks.

Assignment #4- What I Am Passionate About

There are many things I’m passionate about- dancing, writing & art to name a few.

Happy La GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

However the two things I’m most passionate about most actually intertwine with each other- pro wrestling and graphic design. (My apologies for the rambling I’m about to do)

I fell in love with pro wrestling at a very young age, so much so that I grew up wanting a career in the business. My talents outside of the wrestling community as an emcee, a budding photographer, an aspiring journalist, a graphic designer and even a dancer,  have provided me multiple career options to consider in the wrestling business without necessarily being a wrestler.

The pandemic (while terrible overall) was seemingly a blessing in disguise for me in terms of where I am as a graphic designer. While I lost all motivation to keep dancing and singing (and showcasing it all on TikTok), I began working on art. Art was something that I never really had the time to work on prior to the pandemic as I would be out and about every weekend. I’d start on something and it would take me a while to finish a piece.

If its one thing that pro wrestlers love, it’s fan art. During this time I made several drawings and portraits of wrestlers, tagged them on social media and they would repost them and compliment me on my work. Fast forward to 2021, I wanted to create a project highlighting few of the black wrestlers for Black History Month, but it wasn’t working out the way that I wanted to as it took me long to complete just one portrait.

When June came around, I had a different approach. I was inspired to create a digital collage celebrating the inclusivity in wrestling this included projects for Pride & Juneteenth.

I was not expecting these to blow up the way it did. So many wrestlers I included in these projects began following me and were very appreciative  towards what I created. I knew something was there.

That summer, I began creating several posters for indie wrestling promotions which led me to working with Limitless Wrestling up in Maine in making their posters and match graphics for their shows.

Fast forward to now, I’ve worked with several indie wrestling promotions across the country in terms of creating graphics for their events. I’ve also lost count with how many wrestlers I’ve either designed booking graphics, resumes, merch and logos for.

Assignment 9

Old-school-internet GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

Hi! I set this up a while ago, so I’m a little late in posting but here we are!

I decided to go with shortperspective for my domain name. It’s short and sweet, and I think it accurately portrays my goal for this website. I plan to reference my blogpost for what our passions were and have this website be a bigger version to talk about photography and put up some of my photos!

But back to setting up the domain, I forgot to take screenshots when I was actually setting up the domain. I was so so so nervous and worried that something would go wrong so I put all my focus on setting it up. Luckily it all worked!

So I started by going to Reclaim Hosting as instructed, and from there I created a new account.

After I set up the account, I went to cPanel and added WordPress
So by now, my domain was all set up with no hiccups thankfully. I decided to use shortperspective.com so feel free to check it out! It’s got some perks but she’s not quite there yet.
Overall, I very much enjoyed making the domain. The concept of creating a website, and how each website has its own individual name that can not be reused by someone else reminded me of social media.
Creating a website, or even running a website is a lot more complex than having a Twitter, Instagram or Facebook page, but it has similar concepts. Each account, like each website is unique in their own way. So I’m going to try and add some flare to mine, while also making sure it all runs smoothly! Fingers crossed!

How am I doing in CT101?

  • Honestly, I fell off in CT101. Despite enjoying working on the assignments that I have completed, life has caught up to me to where I am stuck in a bottleneck with school.

What have I learned and retained the most?

  • Creativity has been a very big part of CT101, in my opinion. I feel like I was able to open up different portals of creativity in my brain to deliver the best work possible.

What new skills have I developed , cultivated and displayed regularly in my weekly posts?

  • I feel like have been able to read ART so much better than before. Before taking CT101, I would have viewed some of my classmates’ art work with a negative outlook. This is so easy to do without the proper understanding of what is being presented and why it’s being presented the way it is.

What do I know now that I did not know before taking this class?

  • There are so many different software’s and programs that I have never heard of. Using these different platforms like Photopea was very interesting and simple.

What grade do I believe I am maintaining and why do I deserve that grade?

  • Considering I fell behind with the completion of my assignments, it is hard to say what grade I would have in this class but I look to get back on track to get the grade I desire.

Do I see my weekly blogging work expanding creatively? If so, please explain why –  or am I stuck in a loop where my posts seem to look the same most of the time, how will I change that?

  • I do, honestly. It has become easier for me to follow all the directions of the assignments as the semester goes on without feeling overwhelmed that there is so much to do.

Are there any assignments that you are missing? If so, list them.

  • I believe I am missing assignments five assignments. I have a lot of catching up to do. Assignments five, six, seven, eight and nine.

Are you commenting regularly on your classmates posts? Are you responding back to comments given to you by the professor & your classmates?

  • I haven’t been consistent commenting on my classmates’ posts but I will be sure to do so.

Are you participating during the class time? If not, explain why.

  • I am attentive during class, I have participated but not as much as Professor Ryan would like, I’m sure. The reason being is because I am having a hard to expressing my creativity out loud since it was something that I have always kept to myself.

This is the time to be accountable. How will you make needed improvements?

  • Focusing is a big part in making improvements in CT101. The moment you look away from the lesson/instructions being explained about an assignment, can set you back from being on track.

DOMAIN NAME

So, I actually have a domain name already. I was hoping to be able to use that name but because the domain is still active with Google, it doesn’t look too good. I would like to transfer it to wordpress and actually construct a website using the domain name. “BMTHUSED”. This name was something I thought of years ago since I became a BMW car enthusiast. It took me some time to get creative with this name but as you can see, I kind of just mashed it up to make it sound like a phrase in one word.

I’m not sure if this is what I’ll go with because it is taking too long to figure out how to transfer the domain. Also, I’m not sure if it’s free…

MMMhmm…

Here we have it. A blog of creativity that highlights where I get my ideas from. When I work on my blogs for CT101, I’m required to think.

Thinking GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

It is extremely crucial to be surrounded by inspiration when thinking of ideal ways to be creative. For me, I’ve concluded that movies are the best way to get “in my bag“. I’m able to piece people, objects and certain gifs or images pertaining to scenes and characters in movies or shows. It also allows me to tap into different ways of being creative.

Working with mmm.page was such a joy. It was pretty simple using the resources on the site and not having to incorporate gifs or images from other platforms. The best part of any platform I enjoy using is the simplicity. Any platform that steers clear of complexity will always get my vote!

Oh Thats Smart Giannina Milady Gibelli GIF - Oh Thats Smart ...

Ice Cube has done some awesome work with the movies that he has not only played in but also wrote and produced. Most of the popular films he’s played in really highlight the Black culture and raw comedy of comedians. My website design is constructed of a small portion of characters, titles and lines said in different movies that Ice Cube has played in.

Check out my mmm.page!!

Mash Em’ Up

A world of mashed up art and music at it’s finest.

“Mashup photos from your favorite movie with the sheet music from it’s best song in the movie. Using Adobe Photoshop or comporable, play with overlays, Image effects, Opacity, and Masks to create one cohesive piece.”

https://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/music-and-imagery/

I came across a project that really challenged me. The description of the project itself sounds very simple until you try to get creative in a way that has meaning. Fortunately, an idea came to mind when I heard the song “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth. I thought… this song became so popular as part of a tribute to Paul Walker. Although I had this idea in mind, I wasn’t sure of what to do for the project itself. I started searching cars that he drove in the movies to incorporate in this project but then I realized, I wouldn’t be honoring one of the best actors that ever lived unless it included pictures of him.

TRY NOT TO CRY!

This next project was something that I’ve had previous experience in. I’ve even added a little of bit of my own sound from years ago when I use to Dj.

“For this assignment, you’re going to take the instrumental of a song and mash it up with the VOCALS of another song! Here’s the main challenge with this; both songs have to have similar beats per minute (bpm) to work properly together. You can find songs with just instrumentals or just vocals on Youtube, then use Audacity or Garageband to match up the tracks. (Hint, if the bpm is a little bit off, you can always delete portions of the vocals and move them closer or farther from each other to keep things on beat.)”

https://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/vocal-instrumental-mashup/

As a Dj, I tried so many different techniques to either blend or mashup music. It was my pride and joy before my obsession with cars but that’s a story for another day.  I had to learn the Serato Itch djing software in order to master the art of a disc jockey. Listen to this song and see how I was able to choose two songs with the same beats per minute, extract the audio from one song and the instrumental from another song and put them together on beat.

Digital Artisté

I want to start out by saying, I am not an artist, in any way whatsoever. I admire artists, I envy them sometimes, for being able to create something from nothing. So this assignment was a bit… challenging.

After reading through all of the details Professor Seslow mentioned in the assignment post, I was able to come up with something for figma. I always loved Monty Python, and it was referenced a lot in my other class Motion Graphics so I find their style very intriguing and comical. I know John Cleese was part of Monty Python, and he also had a cameo in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone.

So while it’s not my best work, I thought I would combine the style of Monty Python with his character, Nearly Headless Nic, also known as Sir Nicholas. Now I forgot to take screenshots of my work but I did take a few.

For my figma page, I wanted to capture the theme of Monty Python, which was difficult given they illustrated a lot of their work themselves. But nonetheless, I found an image of a sword and a hand that worked. I used a photo from a few decades back of John Cleese, photoshopped his head separately from his body and got a mediocre attempt at digital art.

Now for mmm.page I had a lot more fun! The task was to create a page with digital art, encapsulating something you’re passionate about, which took a lot of thinking. I decided to use the page to list some organizations that help animals and people. My Page

I really enjoyed all of the colorful accessories that came with this platform! I loved applying the gifs to my page, I may have overdone it a tad…
This assignment taught me a lot, and overall, digital art is not my favorite thing in the world, but I know it’s the future so I’m glad I understand it a little bit better now!

Assignment #10

Guys i just built my first website!!

Im so bad with technology, even simple website building was kind rocky and complicated for me. But honestly the process is super simple if you just listen and follow professors tutorials and and recorded lectures.
Ive always wanted to make a tighter climbing community and have something i can bring to the table in terms of creating content and being a part of the community. Above is Chris Sharma.
An American climber who set countless first ascents and changed the world of climbing.
This class was a blessing in disguise because if professor didnt create this as a project, i would most likely never have taken it upon myself to create a website where climbers could get together and enjoy together. Similar to tumblr but for climbing.
Im just looking for the right layout and customizations on the site, however wordpress personally is a little annoying to use. maybe i feel like this only because i have been constantly using microsoft word, or powerpoint my whole life.
Im looking forward to the future. for so long i was just so busy sucked into the mundane routine of school and work. and now long overdue im supposed to graduate this semester. it still doesnt feel real, so doing the last bit of work in the last few weeks i have is a little scary and sad. Ill update everyone in my next post!

Passions!

What are your passions?

It’s a question that tends to come up in interviews, small talk with people you just met, or heck even in-depth conversations that involve liquid/smokey courage.

I mean, if I think about someone’s passion, I think of going to the gym, having a sport or hobby, or feeling strongly for a movement of any kind.

It took a lot longer than I intended to, to discover what my passions are. There are things in life I am passionate about, but I don’t consider them my passions. I would consider photography a passion of mine. Bob Belcher loves his turkeys, I love my cameras.

what's better, pictures or gifs?

I’ve been taking photos since I was 13, whether they were that good at that age, will never be told. I’m not sure why I enjoy photography so much; but I have always been noted for being very observant on random or little things. To be able to capture the hint of emotion, or the small bits of nature that most people don’t look for is quite exciting.

The camera I use, and have been using for a few years now, is a Nikon D3200 digital camera. The platforms I use to edit the photos -which I rarely do- have been Photoshop and Photoshop Express, both are Adobe applications!

In 2020, when sh*t hit the fan, and everyone had to hunker down for about a year and a half; I started birding. I grew up in Connecticut in the middle of nowhere. So having to hibernate in a small town with no main roads, there are not a lot of things to do other than appreciate the nature surrounding you.

god forbid that I romanticise this

Plus it was an excuse to procrastinate on online classes! Now, I still enjoy taking photos of birds and animals, but I also enjoy cityscapes, taking photos of friends for memory keepsakes.

Again, I am not sure what started this passion. I am also not sure how I have loved something for a decade now. One day though, I hope to turn it into something with more of a purpose.

Everything was straightforward after filling in the information and it lead me to my email which showed me this on a new page.
After I logged into Client Area, I saw the cPanel button pressed it and WordPress showed up as downloadable, so I did, and it automatically took me a page to start making my website which was super simple!
