What makes me happy on the internet

What makes me happy on the internet? that answer is Minecraft. I started playing Minecraft last year 2020 and it became one of my favorite games. I started learning about it and looking up videos of how to do things like make potions, beat the game, what specific items do, etc. I started watching YouTubers like Dream and Technoblade who are seen as Minecraft pros. I’ve been watching more dream and his Minecraft manhunt videos.

I find myself watching many videos from dream and learned a lot of new things to do in Minecraft. Dream was also one of the fastest-growing youtube channels ever. At the start of 2020, he had one million subs, at the start of 2021, this dude had 16 million subs. That is insane to me.

Minecraft has a lot of different mobs, character packs, and backgrounds to play in. One of my favorite mobs is the creeper.

In our Zoom class this week (week #3) lets check out both of these platforms in a series of live video tutorials, both Imgur & Giphy are free to use and work with. The internet has been a great way for me to learn new skills and enhance my knowledge. I browse the internet because somehow the curiosity pushes me through to use it more often. I am not super active on all the social media but I use Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and enjoy the posts. Hello everyone, so I love the internet and everything about it. Even though I am not very active I use almost every social media platform like Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Discord, Twitter. Youtube is something that makes me really happy on the internet. Be it funny, educational, facts, dumb or motivational, there is always something that everyone can enjoy in whatever mood they are in.

Internet Happiness

Hello everyone. Thankfully. Due to my relationship with the Internet, over the weekend I was able to watch two recent episodes of my favorite shows. Looking beyond those two, the internet contributes to my happiness almost all the time. I use it almost exclusively to stream some sort of media mainly in the form of music. I don’t do Instagram, Facebook, or Tik-ToK. And I actively repel all things related to the current state of rap, Hip-Hop. Too old for that $#!^. I’d like to say that I only utilize the internet for educational enlightenment purposes but I’m sure I slip up every now and then like most. But anyway, I digress. I thought I’d share my favorite content from over the weekend. I hope it brings you all as much joy as it does me.

As someone who likes to be quiet and can’t fit into a group of people’s revelry, I grew up playing on the Internet. First and foremost, I loved playing games, and I also like to watch live games and matches, all sorts of internet games like League of Legends and PUBG. Naturally I have a team that I like and support. The most fervent period of my support would be the 2018 summer season, which was the brightest moment of my once favorite team WE in recent years. Although WE has had more glorious moments, but in my mind, only these five people together WE is the team I like.

Besides my favorite games and my favorite teams, the most indispensable thing on the Internet is, of course, meme! My favorite ones to use are these kinds that look so speechless and don’t want to care about you.

It is a feeling that can only be understood but not expressed. Anyway, The Internet is really a great tool to spend time.

The Bl community keeps me on the internet really happy.

I have interests in the internet that people around me find me wired for it, I don’t know why. Hello everyone sulu here. It is an interest of mine, however, that makes me happy, even if the people close to me do not understand. On the internet, my friends understand and encourage me because they are interested in it too. It started around last year before I got into a genre of shows called Bl, also known as Boy LoveIn the 1970s, the word boys love came from Japan as a mainstream of manga. The film industry, however, has begun to turn BL into shows and movies, offering the LGBTQ a great deal of representation. As love is equal and it is for everyone, I support and appreciate this culture.

Well, they make me happy on the internet because on social media such as Instagram, Twitter, I follow them. It’s not the only reason to follow them, because they still connect online with their fans and keep them happy by hosting events, doing big aways and playing games for the fans to enjoy.

Tiktok is another aspect that keeps me happy when it comes to having an interest in Bl. The people around me do not understand why I love Bl, as described earlier, but I have made friends on the Bl community side of Tiktok and always express our love and support for the community. It’s like a safe place for us to share our excitement with the love of Bl.

What Internet Happiness Sounds Like

Hi, everyone!

My name is Demi Bazán, that is, BUH-ZON, and I promise Demi isn’t short for anything. My friends call me Dee, Dems, Demigod or Bazán depending on the mood and whether or not I’ve crossed them.

I have never been one to spend much time surfing the web, but when I do, I create playlists like PERVIOLA, my latest creation, which will set you in a Purple mood.

I created PERVIOLA in January while I took a short trip back to New York, in the hopes that it would uplift my mood during gloomy and cloudy winter days, and that it did. I hope it can uplift yours in a dark day!

READING YOUTUBE COMMENTS. 

Yes this is a waste of time and counter productive if done in access , but 1 funny comment can uplift your mood. 

It’s like therapy but it’s free. 

 

From 2015- 2020 I deliberately avoided looking at any youtube comments because I was wasting hours responding to  comments every week.

Then 2020 came ……….

 

One day in the middle of the pandemic I was watching a video (maybe for class, I don’t remember) 

 My curiosity got the best of me and I decided to read a youtube comment for the first time in 5 years.

It was so funny that I decided to start reading youtube comments after I got my work done. 

A lot of these comments are really funny. Many times even funnier than the actual video.

Assignment #1: Meme Stocks and Billionaires’ Tears

 

What makes me happy on the internet is seeing unprecedented events unfold in real time. In these last few  weeks or so, Wall street has been in a frenzy, as hedge fund investors and reddit stock traders go head to head in an intense battle. This can be seen as a modern day ‘THIS IS SPARTAA” event.

This trending topic on the internet has made me happy because it’s a real life example that there is strength in numbers.  Retail traders, which are everyday regular people who trade in the stock market, teamed up with each other against large hedge funds and banks. On a regular basis, retail traders don’t have much power. Large hedge funds and banks have the most power, as they have enough market power to move markets.

Retail traders on reddit beat these wall street big shots by artificially driving up the price of  “meme stocks,” which are stocks that are living in their last days, but bring on moments of nostalgia. They are stocks whos sudden increase in value isn’t dependent on the company’s true value or actions of the company that contribute to its market performance. Meme stocks are instead, based on the basic market factors of supply and demand. A large volume of buy orders would drive up demand and thus price. Conversely, a large volume of sell orders will drive down demand and thus price. These stocks include GameStop and AMC.  This fiasco all started when wall street investors shorted the stocks of GameStop and other companies destined to fail. Want to know what shorting stocks is? Take a wild guess first, then proceed

When you short a stock, it means that you bet against the stock. In other words, you bet that the value of the stock will go down to a certain price. Once the stock price falls at or below that set price, then you start to make some serious cash. This is basically what the big wall street guys were doing. However, if the stock prices go up, These big wall street guys lose money, since they basically lost the bet that the stock price was going down. That is exactly what happened here. The stock prices of these destined to fail “meme stocks” skyrocketed, causing catastrophic losses to hedge funds that shorted these stocks.

With this in mind, these retail investors on reddit banded together and started buying up GameStop shares like crazy, driving up the price per share from $16 to a peak of $345 a share in less than 2 weeks.  Essentially, within a week GameStop went from a company living its final days in its stock market death bed to a full blown stock market athlete competing with fortune 500 companies. This is the first time in history this has ever been done and it was only possible because of the internet.  Think you’re having a bad day? Imagine being a wall street investor who spent countless hours analyzing charts and market performances to predict what companies can potentially be shorted, just to be outsmarted by some Adderall fueled millennials on reddit trading from their parents basements. Sheesh.

This goes to show how the internet can be used to bring people together for a multitude of different purposes. #1 What I Welcome When Watching the Web

I have been on the internet for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I used to wait until my mom got off the landline to grab the telephone cord and plug it into the modem. Then I used to pop my AOL CD into the slot and listen to the nostalgic sound that follows (brace your ears if you’ve never heard it)

I would rush online to play games made from my favorite cartoons on websites like www.Disneychannel.com and www.cartoonnetwork.com. I would play every game in their catalogs until I was content with my dominance, which was probably around bedtime. These daily moments would shape my life drastically and transform me into the computer connoisseur that I am today. My infatuation with the internet has only increased since then and I now spend hours everyday glued to my computer chair surfing the web like this guy.

One thing that is really making me happy this week is that I decided to start streaming on Twitch finally. I play a few PC games online and I have been hesitating on starting my channel due to heavy procrastination on my part. I finally decided to buckle down and start my channel and it has given me quite the boost in energy in a couple different aspects of life. My favorite game to play is League of Legends and Im currently on my grind to Platinum. If you’re ever bored you should stop by My Twitch and say hi!

The Youtube video below gives a deeper insight such event.

Yes, this has to be a female’s worst nightmare but at the same time, it brought a lot of humor to many this week.

The good news is that Tessica Brown has finally been able to remove all of the mess from her head through surgery but she can not escape from all the memes that have been surfing around social media.

What Makes Me Happy On The Internet

The Family Project

The Family Project is a very funny YouTube channel that has been active for about 3 or 5 years now. Over the course of the quarantine I have been watching their videos everyday, and let me tell you the comedy is off the charts. What I like most about The Family Project is that their energy is contagious and so genuine.

It has become almost rare that YouTubers fully put their hearts into making videos anymore. But The Family Project has created a platform of infinite possibilities, not just for themselves, but for all their followers. Being a social media influencer is not an easy job, you have to stay current with the trends and keep your fan base entertained. And every time I tune in to The Family Project they never fail to make me laugh or feel their vibrant energy.

Being a YouTuber myself, I have learned a lot from watching their videos and following their social media pages. The most important things to remember are to have fun, make connections, be professional and make sure to keep your content relevant. Some people may not agree, but social media can bring people together and maybe even make the world a better place. It may sound cheesy, but you’ll be surprised when making a couple videos expands into an entire empire influencing others.
