okay so this blog post i created was pretty informative. I started giving more in depth information on nursing classes and the curriculum you can expect
Assignment #9 Hopped the Learning Curve
If you saw my previous post, you’d know that WordPress was quite difficult to use for me.
The interface was quite foreign and complex to me and I was stuck for a while.
But I also said that I’d be able to overcome it and I totally did.
My goal was simple; my goal was to put my comic series onto the website and I did but it certainly wasn’t easy.
I had a hard time determining what the issue was.
I kept hopping from theme to theme to find the right one to make my webcomic.
And I think once I found my theme, things started to finally move.
And it all started when I typed in a variety of phrases involving WordPress and Webcomics. And I was greeted with a tutorial and a theme for my work.
Toocheke was my theme and it matched perfectly with what I wanted. Immediately I had to erase a lot of my progress and start from scratch and I managed to come up with a website that I’m starting to feel pride in.
I updated my front page to show my most recent work and made a menu for my different series. Most importantly I imported my entire series to my website which was proof that I can make my own site to host my comics.
I felt really happy. I thought long-term about this decision.
If my work ever gets taken down or if any of the sites I host my work on just randomly shuts down, I now have a place of my own to go to.
I don’t have to put all of my work on my portfolio site. I can put it on my own website and leave my portfolio as a separate entity.
I have to have a certain threshold of followers before I can get monetized but with this website, I can just apply for an Adsense account.
There are a lot of ways this website can make my life easier and I am so glad that I was able to get it to work.
Assignment 9
WELL HELLO EVERYONE
I hope everyone is well and having fun creating their websites. I know I am.
Assignment #9: artsy mungie or struggling mungie
hello! hello!
I hope everyone’s website looks great so far!
As I mentioned in my last blog post, I watched so many videos in order to customize my website in a way where I’m FULLY content.
(i’m very nitpicky)
I’ve made many adjustments to my website, for example, the color, the logo, the theme, etc.
I first started off by downloading Astra. I really like Astra because it has a wide variety of fonts and it’s said to be the easiest theme to use as well as to customize.
Secondly, I thought about how I wanted to organize each thing on my website and decided to have a different page and then use my Home page to demonstrate to others what the website would be about. Each page looks like this:
Lastly, I customized some other things for myself like the footer and the color scheme. I really like violet and blue so I used those two colors and used it throughout my entire website with different tints of it. In the footer, I included the main menu, my Instagram, and my email. I included my Instagram and my email just in case anyone was wondering what it was :3
I thought to include the main menu again just because what if I blog so much to the point it’d be a hassle to scroll all the way back up, so including it again in the footer was just something that I thought would be efficient.
Tying it all together, I thought deeply about what to use as my logo. I didn’t want to just use one from the internet, I know I wanted to create something so I used my girlfriend’s iPad and used Good Notes. I first just started scribbling with different fonts I can write in and end up with this:
( hover over this ^ to visit my website )
(I know my website looks REALLY empty BUT I have been working on it, it’s just because again I’m really taking my time in customizing the header, the footer, and each page layout.
definitely not because I’m having writer’s block :D)
I did decide not to use the theme that Professor Seslow suggested because again I wanted to be able to customize my website fully and start without a template. Overall, I don’t think it was too difficult to learn Astra, it’s better to learn just by playing around with it on your own.
How does your website look like so far?
I hope it’s

Assignment #8: mungie is finally getting artsy
Long time no see!
Can you guess which domain name I picked?
During the last class, I still couldn’t decide which name to pick
BUT
Professor Seslow greatly suggested consulting with my inner spirit guides :D.
and I chose artsywithmungie.com
Registering for my own domain name, setting up website hosting and word press was fairly easy, especially with the guidance of Professor Seslow.
I think the only thing that I struggled with was deciding on the name and designing the website
I watched so many videos to customize my website and I took the time to play around with different themes that are offered on word press.
A video that really helped me was this:
( hover over the image to see the video )
I know it’s pretty lengthy but I got to fully understand how to use WordPress.
Currently my website it unfinished but this is how it looks like currently:
I know it looks like nothing much, but I like to pay attention to all the details first before going into the big stuff
( which tends to be the reason why I’m so behind because it can get so time-consuming .-. )
(if you also wish to have it look like this do the following:)
go to your wp admin > drop down to appearance > themes > click on “ add new ” on the top left > search for astra > then click on install
FINITO
goodluck to everyone working on their website!
I’m looking forward to seeing it :DDD.
gtg i have to work on mine now

assignment 9
So i have finally decided what i would like to do with my website.
Since my passion is to become a nurse I have decided to dedicate a website towards information for people who would also like to become a nurse or are interested.
The top part of the home page consists of my vision board and then proceed to give information about ADN, LPN, RN AND BSN programs.
Checkout my first blog post!
Guess what?
There’s a new Blog Post live on www.arppra.com.
Remember when I said we would be focusing on travel and adventure? Well, the first post on the site is all about an awesome island in the Caribbean that you can travel to and enjoy! That’s right; we are talking about the island of Jamaica!
Read up about the Jamaican culture, people and more by clicking here
Digging into my plans!
The semester is coming to a close fast!
Since we are focusing on building our site, let me give you a rundown of the plan!
So far, I plan to work on downloading the best plugins I need for the site. But first, what is a plugin? Watch the video below to find out.
So WordPress has a suite of awesome plugins to choose from. Based on my previous assignment, we chose a domain name and dived into the web!
After logging into the admin dashboard, I headed over to Plugins.
There are thousands to choose from, and they can do so much. If you look at the bottom of the screenshot above, you’ll see an app called Jetpack downloaded. This app helps with backing up and protecting the website. Read more about it here.
Now it’s onto the pages. I’ve decided to stick with three pages, a “Home” page, a “Blog” page and a “Contact Us” page. I don’t think the site needs any more. It’s critical not to overwhelm viewers with the information they don’t need to know. I will also add something else to the Header Menu that will link to other pages.
I will remove the default content from the theme and customise the home page. I can’t wait!
Also, look out for a new colour scheme. I’m thinking blue, red and white. Hopefully, I’m inspired to keep those even though they have no significance. There will also be a Blog Post, so you can look out for that!
Essentially, this website will talk about travel and adventure. Two things I love the most.
There are just so many places to discover. Where will you travel next?
Stay tuned for more updates on my website.
Assignment #8 The Learning Curve
…for the most part.
I already knew my domain name from the get-go so putting it in and registering it wasn’t an issue.
First I had to go on Reclaim Hosting and verify if my domain name was in use. Once it was confirmed that it wasn’t I had to register and pay using the professor’s code.
Once that was done I had to confirm the order through an email link.
The issue was learning how to use an entire platform to make a place to host my comics independently. Go to my website now and you may be greeted currently with this
Now if this worries you, well me, too.
I’m so used to sites like wix.com that this current format is a bit of a learning curve.
One that, quite frankly, I’d be able to overcome but I may need a bit more time and practice to master everything.
Right now, my goals are to set up menus for my work, put disclaimers up before reading the comics, and make the user interface as easy to use as I possibly can.
I saw a section on word press where I can use HTML so hopefully, I can brush up on my skills so can figure out how to make the site better.
I’m going to have to binge a lot of tutorial videos and learn the limits when it comes to images.

Assignment 8: The Beginning of a New Journey
Hey Everyone!!!!
Hope you guys had a great thanksgiving break.
Well this is a small update but i will continue on with this. Till next time!!!
Assignment #8 – Registering my Domain Name
YES!!! I finally registered my own domain!
I have to say that the whole process of registering my own domain name and setting up a web hosting account was fun and interesting.
But at first, I had expected the whole process to be in some way really difficult and complicated.
Then, luckily for me at least, it was actually not hard at all. It was all thanks to Professor Seslow that we were able to go through the process all together.
I am looking forward to this upcoming and ongoing journey with you all on working on our own websites and for you guys to see the type of amazing and interesting content I put up on my website.
Assignment #7 – My Domain Name will Dominate!!!
My five suggestions/considerations for my first domain name will be either Loulou, Belucidforever, Hardstylemotivator, Mydogsruletheworld, or Piscesarethebestpeople.
I came up with Loulou because my cousin and my friends from high school used to call me by that nickname and I really got used to it. It was a good nickname in my opinion and felt fitting for my real name. For my second considered domain name, I came up with Belucidforever because I have had crazy lucid dreams ever since I found out what a lucid dream is and I really love controlling my dreams and feeling like I was in an alternate universe that felt so real.
I have considered Hardstylemotivator as my domain name because for me Hardstyle is what keeps me pushing harder and motivating me in all aspects of my life since I discovered and listened to the music genre in 2013. Mydogsruletheworld is my fourth consideration because I have so much love for my dogs that I let them take/rule over the world or at least my house. My last consideration is Piscesarethebestpeople and I think it is a good example for my website because I will include the pros and benefits of being in the company or having a relationship with a pisces.
My new website will be about my love for music, movies, Tv shows and the reasons why I love them.
My thoughts about this next chapter in my life as a website owner is that I wonder what exactly will I put on my website and blogs in order to convey my message of whatever the theme or topic is going to be about. For example, if my website will be about my love for music, movies and television shows, what gifs, memes and information/context to accurately depict the reasons why I love them.
My excitements about starting my next chapter in my life as a website owner is actually pretty exciting, crazy but in a good way, and I feel like it’s going to be really interesting for me and for all my viewers/classmates that will visit my website.
One of my favorite websites is Instagram because I get to watch and view high quality videos, reels, and professional photos that follow a certain trend that is aesthetically pleasing to me. Also I’m really into cinematic type of videos that instagram shows constantly and extremely well and makes me come back for more compelling content like those.
My other favorite website is YouTube because I am able to watch at least an hour of live sets of famous DJs playing in a festival that I won’t be able to watch them anywhere else which is a big opportunity for me.

week 11 post
I picked a name, now its time to design the website!
I decided to challenge my self and try a theme other than the ones that was suggested. Not going to lie, I now understand why ryan suggested the other ones because it is kind of challenging and complex, but if it becomes a real challenge i will change it but for now i wanted something more appealing to the eye. I decided to go with the Inspiro theme because I really liked the layout of it.
After I edited sub-title and tagline that suits what my website is about and went to google fonts to choose a font that I liked. I ended up going with Unna.
